Did I play the same demo as everyone else? Did I miss something? Is it April Fools?
I thought the entire thing was terrible. A boring, buggy mess, loaded with intrusive cut-scenes. The Marvel: Avengers demo was better. I'll have to wait a few months and see how it pans out.

Can't wait for launch. I'm trying to decide if I want to go Pyro or Devestator as my main for the group I'm going to be playing with as they've already settled on Trickster and Technomancer. Definitely going to try out all 4 though!

Are you a looter shooter fan normally?

I thought it was magnificent, loot and progression done right.

Gamepass baby.

Spewing there's no cross platform progression though. My 5 legendaries will remain unlocked on the PS version forever :(

I wasn't blown away by the Outriders demo by any means. But I felt like it was light years better than Avengers. Not to mention it already sounds like they have a much better plan for retail as well. To each their own though, of course.

Yeah I really enjoy looter-shooters: Anthem, Destiny, Borderlands, Risk of Rain 2 (?), The Division 2. I like the power-fantasy and chasing the big numbers.

I guess I ran into more things I didn't like than I things I did like... it felt like I was playing a Gears of War clone with too many interruptions and nowhere near as much character.
(I can excuse the bugs/tech-problems, that's half of the demo is there for. The other half being an advertisement for the final production.)

I hope it improves in the near future, I'd be happy to give it another try. In the meantime I hope you enjoy your time with the game, I'll be keeping an eye on it from the distance.

Day 1 for me, the demo sold me on it and I applaud them for not only releasing it but balancing the demo with a few patches as well.

Really looking forward to it.

After avengers division 2 and anthem I'll pass. If it was free on gamepass pc I would give it a try but as usual we won't get it.

I'm excited to play this on Gamepass, might attempt to play with some randoms, I've had good luck with playing with randoms on The Division, hopefully this will be the same.

Gamepass is a great idea as it'll give it an active community for at least a short period of time.

Anthem 2.0.
I mean, if we ignore the part where it's not being sold as an online only, MMO, "10 year plan", "GaaS", "micro-transaction platform" game, and that it's made by a development team who've done similar work before, the demo was actually fun, you can't fly, thanks to Gamepass it'll have more players, the story wasn't a complete wet fart, and there appears to be more than just one endlessly repeating biome... I guess you could possibly say that?

I just realized this is by the Painkiller devs. Noice.

But why isn't it coming to Game Pass PC? :messenger_downcast_sweat: And this looks leagues better than that turd Anthem. Why is that shitty game even being uttered in this thread?

I feel you, the game feels unpolished in many areas. The worst aspect by far are the animations both in game and in cutscenes. But for all of it's imperfections it does have charm and it actually tries to resemble an RPG unlike Destiny with it's focus on spellcasting and deep talent trees. I'm looking forward to playing the full game on PC.

Played 90 min of the demo today, I really liked to see that the game is very story-focused, unlike other looter shooters. It could be what I always expected from Borderlands... we'll see.

Anthem 2.0.

Unlike Anthem the end-game on this one is already done. No empty promises in the form of GAAS in Outriders.

I'm expecting Outriders to be a sleeper hit with the looter/shooter fans, as long as they release patches in a timely fashion. The demo itself has received multiple updates which is a pretty good sign.

The gear mod/crafting system looks to have sufficient depth to allow creative individuals to work up any number of highly effective combinations instead of all of us using exactly the same "best" kit a week after release. Difficulty tiering, time-based objectives on the end-game missions for loot, 10+ levels or whatever they're calling them for that endgame loot hunting too. All of it sounds great. Hopefully it is.

All of this makes me think they "get it" in all the ways Biowere never did.

Lastly, them using the demo effectively as a beta and not making people jump through any hoops to get it is completely the opposite of how the industry usually exploits us. Refreshing, don't you think? :)

All I need to know is:

IS THIS BETTER THAN DIVISION 2 ??

Because that's all I fucking play and I want something new.
It's pretty different.

Realistic vs scifi
Cover shooting vs aggressive playstyle
In division weapons are more important, in this one seems like abilities are more important.

One is fully triple A, the other is more high budget AA.
Outriders seems to have a more involved story and chara then division (i sincerely don't remember a single thing about 2 division games in term of story or charas)

One is fully gaas the other not much.

You have a demo, a rarity in these modern days, try the game by yourself.

The demo turned me off cause of all the cutscenes but I will give it another go.
Thanks for your reply.

I played a few quests with a friend. Ps5 for me and X for him. We had no trouble. Did you?
I tried the demo on ps5 and i never catched anyone online...the game stay in research untio i get bored to wait.
Not only the crossplay, the entire multy aspect was broken for me.
