My goodness gracious.....I still cannot get over the art direction in this upgrade. I mean seriously....JUST LOOK AT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are strategical, emotional, and devotional reasons why I have not played OR2 or even F-ZeroGX yet, which I will not go into here.

I'd pay for full price for an Xbox download,Depth ofcourse is a word thrown out by people who have no idea what it really means, like progressive. ofcourse, when you're done with all the missions, and beat all the mode's, it's all over and done with right? Don't be fucking silly. When did the rpg nerds win? Such a sad state of affairs. The funny part is half the people on this board don't even finish games anymore, while some are still complaining about games being too short (for more political reasons I believe). God forbid an arcade title is deemed worth buying at full price. Can't let that happen!

O.K. here's the deal. First of all. I never said I didn't buy the games. I just said I haven't played them. I have bought both OR2 and F-ZeroGX, to show my support to Sega. But they are both in a box and locked in my garage.
The reason..........
I have owned my Toshiba 65" Widescreen RPTV for over 5 years now. It's a cool set and all, but I am not satisfied with it. It's too small. After reading about the life altering experience gaming on a front projector with a screensize of 100 inches or more can give you, I promised myself I would not play any racing games until I can experience them the way *I* want to.... on a state of the art 110" projection screen from a high end projector....AND playing in an industrial and high quality racing cockpit with a steering wheel!
THIS TAKES MONEY AND TIME!
Playing both OutRun 2 and F-ZeroGX mean a lot to me. They mean more to me than you would ever know!!! I have purposefully refrained from even looking at them other than screenshots on the internet. Until the day comes that I can rennovate my garage to a dedicated racing theater room I refuse to play them the way most people in this forum plays them....on a measly 27", 32" or 40" TV. Right now I am still saving money and it's going to take more time.
BUT I REFUSE TO CAVE IN!!!! I *WILL* be patient until all things come together as they should.
Am I nuts? A bit strange? Hardcore? You bet!!! But the payoff is going to be worth it. The day I fire up OutRun 2 and F-ZeroGX and play them for the first time on my 110" screen in full surround sound sitting comfortably in my new racing cockpit, is the day my social life ends and will probably never see sunlight ever again!
I am going to lock myself into the garage and play the SHIT out of these games 24 hours a day!! And when I get the chance and can afford them, I plan to buy both Daytona USA 1, 2 and Scud Race and add them to my setup!
Call me what you want, but just you wait....it's gonna be MEZMORIZING!!!!!!!!!![]()

Saturnman said:We're going to kick down your front door, threaten you into submission with large blunt objects and tie you up in the living room. We'll make sure your head faces forward towards the TV and keep your pupils open, like the Clockwork Orange avatar of Cockles.
Then we'll yank out a gift-wrapped Outrun 2 adressed in your name, unwrap it and then play it on your Xbox. Don't worry, if you try to make us believe you don't own the console, we will bring one, just in case. Then we'll play in front of you, try to win racing on every possible course, unlock everything in the Mission mode, yes, including the Super GT and Daytona 2 tracks.
While we can't actually force you to play, we can put a controller in your tied-up hands, giving you at least the illusion of controlling it. No way we're turning off force feedback. Not a chance in hell. And we'll do it all while you're screaming in a mix of ecstacy and self-imposed agony.
Then later that evening, we will all leave to our lives and girlfriends. But before leaving and untying you, we'll take $23.56 from your wallet, exactly the price we paid the game on a sale at Best Buys. Giving you the game is too easy, you must feel like you've paid for this little gem from Sega.
We'll get you, Isamu.![]()

What's wrong with you?
Ratix0 said:Folks, OR2SP is the second coming!!! Its very nice I'd say. If I'm not wrong, its similar to Turbo Outrun, where they get an add-on pack and make it Outrun2 SP. I noticed that the upper segment(Above the screen area), where Outrun2 used to be shown can be taken out and replaced with SP. It COULD be where the addon is, considering the sticker of Outrun2 is at the side, a little torn like the old Outrun2. Either that, or they used the shell of Outrun2 and put in the game of outrun2 SP.
Certain stages pose quite a challenge, like Skyscraper. Wherelse, there are other stages which seem alot easier then the average difficulty of the courses in Outrun2. For example, the first stage. The thing is rather easy to grip, and the last part, it has a similar S shape chichane, except the direction is different. Its more like the chichane at the start of alpine. Theres another difference, which is that the chichane isn't really a chichane when the last part is a frigging huge road, you can't really crash there. Giant statue isn't too hard. The thing about Giant Statue is the ending... Alberto... Chased by a jumping totem. LOL! Skyscraper is a killer me thinks. It requires an even different drifting technique, or else even with Feint Drift --> Gear Drift, you'll still hit the sides. I haven't really got pass it without getting the sides and I think you need to hold breaks. I've been to all the goals, and milkyway is VERY. VERY beautiful.
The cars, strangely, DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE MUCH DIFFERENCE NOW. They are ALL capped at 293km/h. For Testarosa, Enzo, Dino, EVERYONE. 293km/h. I'm not too sure if their acceleration and handling changes, but I heard Watermelon saying that he saw that Enzo, F40, BB and 250GTO(The professional cars) all loses speed while turning, like a normal car. W.T.F? Also, if you go time attack mode, you'll be able to choose Tuned mode. If you do, I'm not too sure. I only played Tuned F40 and Tuned 250GTO. Both of them has the properties of the professional cars in Outrun2. 300km/h, no lose of speed while turns ect. I'm not too sure about Dino and the others though.
Talk about replayability, it has BOTH the outrun2 and Outrun2 SP courses. However, outrun2 courses plays in Outrun2 SP style, with slip stream, and the cars. To do that, during mode select, press view change. You'll change to another section with Outrun mode, HA mode and TA mode. It also writes Outrun2 courses. You'll be racing those courses. Also, it has 14 songs to choose from. 7 from Outrun2, another 7 are probably from Outrun, though I can't recognise 4 of them. I can't test out Multiplayer because the link between the machines are probably broken, they arn't link. Its either that or SP doesn't let you play multiplayer. I personally think its the former.
Heart attack mode is well, pretty interesting. The hearts you get are ALOT more for some reason. Its more of an average of 400 hearts and 500-600 at special requests. I've seen some guy gotten 3030 hearts too. There are some request like "Get through the Gate". Its not like Xbox's OR2's challenge mode, where you need to pass those uber small gates. Its more like a semi circle ring, where the WHOLE car must pass through. Or else you won't get the hearts. The next one is get the coins. Where when it starts, theres a chain of Gold coins, which when it goes near the end, theres a HUGE area of Blue coins. Not in a single file, but like 3-4 in a row or something. It doesn't seem that you can get all of the hearts if you just travel straight. The next one is Beat the other cars request. Its on the fourth course's Special Request 2 if you go to the easiest Route(Left all the way). You get a bunch of 4 cars(I think, not sure if its 5). You have to race through the WHOLE course to beat them and get the hearts. It takes up the whole course so its just pretty much 1 request at the course. It nets 500+ hearts for me at least. I heard from CJ800 that theres another request, call Hit the Ghost. When you start, you'll see ghost people or something, you're suppose to ram them. LOL, strange request >_>.
Time attack mode. Interesting. When you start TA mode, you DON'T get to choose what course to go to. When you start, you get the 2 best cars for the COURSE, not route, one going to the left and another to the right. You'll be racing against those ghost cars. Upon reaching another course(Lets say you go left), when you past it, there will be the ghost car of yet another 2 fastest cars for that course coming together with you. One going to the left, another to the right. So currently, you're not racing through the route, but rather, each individual courses itself.
Outrun mode is pretty much nothing too special. The scoring for passing a car has changed, no longer 100k per cars passed at normal, you get thousands only. It will show what cars you've passed and the points you get. There is also this Rival thing while racing. Passing your rival will net you more points. Its a little tough to pass the rivals, trust me. At least when you first played it. Some of them just seem to have the traffic going their way. The traffic just help blocking them >_>.
Last but not least, the physics changed. When you hit anything, you no longer list that much speed as compared to when you do in Outrun 2. And the flash when you hit it is different. Also, when you hit, it has the "Newton's Law" thingie, which pushes you away. When you bang a car, you also don't lose that much speed, and the car will swirve, flash and dissappear. Slipstream obviously injected a bit of vibrancy into Outrun mode I think. Overall, its a pretty fun game.

Q0o said:ah forgot to post, if you haven't checked back at the BBS board on MBK, you got your answer to the 15 continous course, here how you do it if you forgot to check
15 continuous course is not initial operator's setting.
You must request arcade attendant to release 15 continuous course mode.
15 continuous course costs one more credit.

Isamu said:Greetings and hello Webmaster. It's Isamu
I know that we're all here to discuss Arcade racing games only, but if you don't mind I'd like to get your thoughts on the upcoming Xbox version of OutRun 2. I hear it is coming out in Japan on Jan. 29th.
Webmaster....what has the anticipation in Japan been like for this Xbox conversion?
Are a lot of Japanese gamers looking forward to OutRun 2 for the Xbox? Will you personally be buying it? And if so, will you play it online?
I have not yet played the game and was thinking of skipping the US version altogether and getting the Japanese version once I get my projector and racing cockpit.
I'd to also get your thoughts on the Daytona 2 and Scud Race bonus tracks Sega included in Xbox OutRun 2....
What is your overall impression of them? Do you think it was a good idea for Sega to put these tracks in the Xbox version of OR2?
In your opinion, how do they look? Do you feel they do the original arcade versions justice?
Do you expect that a lot of Japanese gamers looking forward to and will enjoy playing OutRun 2 with these Scud Race and Daytona 2 tracks?
Webmaster your mind is so full of knowledge about Sega arcade racing games and you're so hardcore, that I really want to get your thoughts on the matter.
Thanks in advance![]()

I also brought it to Yoshimoto's attention in *THIS* thread.
Here's hoping things get patched up.
