Overwatch 2 is Coming to Xbox Game Pass

Get ready to gear up, Heroes! Overwatch 2 will be dropping into Xbox Game Pass on September 17, and you won’t want to miss it. Link your Battle.net account to an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass for Console, or PC Game Pass account by November 11 and log back in to unlock a cache of exclusive benefits that will elevate your Overwatch 2 cosmetics to new heights. Read on to learn more about what’s in store for linked accounts.
Starting on September 17, when you link your accounts, you’ll score six of the slickest hero skins on the battlefield: Cardboard Reinhardt, Turtleship D.Va, Cyberdragon Hanzo, Street Runner Genji, Bee Mercy, and Cleric Lifeweaver. If you link your accounts by November 11, these noteworthy skins will be yours to keep and alongside them, you’ll also receive a one-time bonus of 30 Mythic Prisms. Use these Mythic Prisms to snag Mythic Shop cosmetics and upgrades to suit your style.

But wait, there’s more! With your active Xbox Game Pass account linked, you’ll gain access to select Overwatch 2 Shop cosmetics from the past three seasons*. You will have access to an awesome collection that updates with each new season, allowing you to relive the freshest styles and equip your heroes with some of the coolest cosmetics from recent history. The perks don’t stop there - you’ll also be able to supercharge your progression with an additional 10% XP boost! Whether you’re powering through your Battle Pass or climbing the competitive ranks, this boost stacks on top of all others, helping you achieve your goals faster and reap your rewards quicker. These rewards will remain active as long as you keep your accounts linked and maintain a subscription to one of the eligible Xbox Game Pass account tiers.

Maybe it's just me, but I always find it strange when F2P games are advertised as GamePass games. Ehmmmmm okay, nice ... but what do I get with GP(U) that I couldn't play for free anyway? I don't need a subscription for F2P games (where I should leave a lot of money in shops)? It's like a straw they're clutching at. Stinks like despair.

Not available on the new Gamepass Standard tier? Either that or even MS own companies can't keep track of all the tiers.

I'd like for them to include the PvE missions as part of the GamePass sub. I still play it from time to time, but with no comms because I diskike talking to people :)

Normally you get things like characters that you normally pay for like in valorant.
But yes, f2p in a Games Flatrate is a bit strange

As a die hard player it is pretty lame it got gamepass support for what amounts to a couple free skins and 30 levels worth of mythic points, but on the other hand, I did get the cardboard rein skin for free 🤷

Never could get into OW on console due to no mouse/keyboard support.

It’s nothing that will change your mind, but controller play in overwatch actually plays like a dream. They really nailed the fine details of auto aim helping you out without feeling like it’s taken over your whole game. Remember when Destiny 1 came out when everybody couldn’t stop falling over each other to jerk off bungie in posts about their “FPS shooting feel”? It’s kinda like that.
