Cool, seems like I have the right idea when it comes to weapon usage.

Survivability is my biggest concern. I'm too reliant on D.Va's rocket boost to escape places and quickly grab a med pack.

I assume I should never be alone as Zarya. D.Va can easily go off alone and harass people then boost back to safety, but Zarya is pretty much dependent on everyone else to help buff her weapon and has no quick escape ability.

I swear every ranked game I play is damn Gibraltar.

Edit: ah fuck this, I'm salty. I ranked 2800~ in my placement games but since then I have lost EVERY SINGLE MATCH. 14 ranked games lost in a row.

Somehow I am matched with the most useless players every fucking time. I find more teamwork in QP.

Double edit: wow and they all just fucking team left after round 1 loss so it's 6 v. Me

Don't worry. It's just game adjusting your MMR to match your actual level of skill, compensating for luck streak you had in placements games! /s

100% true

On comp it would be Lucio (Me), Soldier (My friend), Junkrat, Bastion, Pharah, Winston :)

Forgot to post this gem from last week. I was playing a competitive match as Ana on Gibraltar and we couldn't go any further after securing the second checkpoint. As soon as the round ends the Hanzo says I shouldn't pick Ana. People jumped in to defend me because I obviously wasn't the problem. I play a good Ana and that game in particular I had around 10 elims and 8k healing after the first round. I never saw that guy in the kill feed so I checked his profile and he plays mostly Hanzo and only averages 10 elims. I have no idea how he even made it this far. I usually don't respond to this type of crap but the guy was the only one not communicating in voice chat and the only one not contributing anything while also trying to shift the blame on me. I made a comment that I average more elims on Ana and that he should probably not play DPS and the dude proceeded to throw the game. He switches to Torb for the defense round and says "I'll give you a loss. :)" He then proceeds to AFK in spawn.

We start the round down a man and are actually putting up a really good defense. Suddenly we are winning the game 5v6 and holding them back while our Torb AFKs in spawn. We mention in game chat that he is trying to throw the game and to report him. He comes out of spawn just before the second checkpoint because he is either scared that more people are going to report him or he is trying to throw harder by feeding. In those last moments of overtime we manage to hold them for the win.

Dude then gets genuinely mad that we won and hurls a hilarious series of insults...

True classic. Complain over a pick after everything's done.

Another classic is someone giving you constant shit about how you are doing with hero X. Yesterday someone kept telling me how I suck ass as Reaper (had gold kills and dmg done) and how I should let him play Reaper, he is SO GUD. I got tired of his bitching so I swapped to Zen as we needed 2nd healer anyways, he took Reaper instantly.

I had gold kills at end of match. He was so godtier... ....

Guy just messaged me asking if I was using a mouse.

I swear this is the third time someone has complimented me on my aim. It feels nice.

And yet I fucking suck as Widowmaker. Weird.

I love Zenyatta. People say he's a shit primary healer but I disagree. Playing Mercy is sometimes as much fun as watching my car fill with gas. She only gets to do one thing at a time. Provide 60 hps sec OR add 30% damage to one person OR shoot her little pistol OR hide and hope the enemy team doesn't know where you are so you can surprise Rez.

Zenyatta provides half the healing of Mercy regularly and can provide it at a greater distance with a longer out of LOS effect and doesn't have to put himself in as much danger to provide it (although he lacks her escape tool to compensate. BUT then he at the same time also gets to debuff someone by 30% which if one teammate is shoot that target with at least 100dps worth of damage, you have now effectively provided 60 hit points of swing damage just like single target Mercy heal. If the teammate deals more than 100 dps, you've now provided more than Mercy. AND then you get to deal up to 300 dps (with head shots) worth of damage yourself. Not even accounting for his ult which I enjoy better than Mercy because for one it makes him invincible and second it prevents the deaths instead of hiding to let it happen.

I'm tired of hearing people say Zenyatta isn't a good healer. He does just fine. His greatest strength is how much he gets to do at the same time while Mercy has to pick and choose which thing to do. He can heal from further away than Lucio or Mercy and his heals are more reliable than Ana. He can deal dps-level damage and provide a powerful tool to help his team melt targets. And he gets to do this all at once.

Oh and another thing. He can be better at healing stealth mode as well. Mercy has to be in the mix with an obvious beam tether. Lucio has to be relatively close. Zen can throw discord and harmony from really far away and hide for 3 seconds (building up a volley of balls to shoot if he wants).

Not sure why I wanted to write a Zen love letter today. I just wish people would quit thinking Lucio and Mercy are the only primary healers. A good Zen heals just fine unless your team is simply outmatched. And he's a ton of fun to play now. Blizzard better not touch him. I think he's perfect post changes.

I've used him to great effect as the solitary healer on a number of occasions. Transcendence charges quickly enough to be a good save for when a teammate is taking too much heat and is an effective counter to most enemy ults. His real issue is how's much easier it is to remove him from a fight than just about any other healer. If you can't fight off your attacker, you've got no escape beyond popping your ultimate. I still view him as a hybrid character and feel much better when I have help healing, however.

I like playing Mercy but this whole "hide and revive" crap is so boring. I'm hoping they make some adjustments to her gameplay.

I had a game last night where a guy questioned why I did a 2 man res...because the fucking tank is down and I want to avoid losing the first point?

Ok, not sure if it's just me, XBO players, or in general, but I've found more and more people are quitting games after losing the first round. It's so annoying, especially since it just means I'm going to lose and ruin my score even more.

I've carried many teams just being the only healer as Zen.

The respawn timing and proximity on the last point of some maps is really obnoxious. On Anubis if you kill all the defenders, but you didn't do it all at once, you've basically fucked yourselves because then they'll have an endless stream of respawns to contest the point. Throw in some Mei and Zen invulnerability stalls and a Mercy respawn revive, and it's just goddamn stupid. You can kill the entire defending team like 3 times and still not get the cap.

I don't think they need to change her at all. She's the standard vanilla healer like how Soldier 45 is your standard normal DPS.

It's funny, but as I play more and more competitive, and being forced into the role due to solo queue players snap-picking DPS, I've realized that I have a knack for playing the healer role. I've gotten a good sense of when things are looking bad and it's time to hit the rez, even if it's not an epic 4 man one, and when the enemy is making their big push and it's time to hit the sound barrier. Still haven't gotten a knack for Ana yet, and my accuracy with Zen's balls is pretty hit-and-miss, but my Mercy and Lucio game is getting pretty damn strong.

Same for me. I'm not bad as DPS but I feel like winning or losing relies more on your how well your DPS are doing.

I only really know how to play as Pharah and Soldier, and considering how weak Pharah is right now I'd rather just stick to tanks and supports.

Doing 2 man res is completely reasonable too lol. If you wait for only 3+ man revives (like I did when I started playing) you can easily go a whole game without ever reviving anyone. Sometimes it's just better to revive a small number of people to keep the push going.

The number of people revived is really irrelevant, it's just a shorthand for "was this the most strategically effective tactic at the time?" If it were a single res of a tank that could keep the overtime going while everyone raced back, it is the most appropriate res.

Nearing Diamond rank. Duoing with a friend. Queue up and it's a 6 stack vs. our duo queue and solos.

...

Why the fuck does the matchmaking allow this to happen? Could it really not find anything closer to a 6 stack that it was like "Yeah, this makes sense"? Sure enough it was a loss with the other team having better coordination.

I'm so sick of solo queueing.... I hit rank 73 last season but I can't even get near to Diamond even though my hero stats are in the top %s.

So many people unwilling to co-operate

Dunno if it's just some unluckiness with matchmaking or if it's the community getting worse.
