A little too much metalcore tripe, and I would have much preferred to see Dark Tranquillity instead of In Flames, but Maiden, Shadows Fall and Mastodon might be worth the price of admission. We'll see.

It's got some stiff competition from the Sounds of the Underground tour though, which will feature Opeth AND Strapping Young Lad.

Wow. And Sharon has been saying they're going to keep ticket prices low this year.

Iron Maiden + Sabbath should be worth it alone for the metal heads.

Rob Zombie shouldn't be headlining anything. :|

This is by far the best line up I've seen in years. I promised myself I wouldn't go to another ozzfest too. damn it. :(

p.s.- say what you will about Rob Zombie, but the fucker puts on an insanely awesome show.

eh, Shadow's Fall had a ton of potential.. their early release, Of One Blood was one of the finest metal albums around. Now, they've gone to crap.

That's a pretty good starting lineup, best one in awhile. They should snag Terror for the second stage.

That may be so, but live they are a force to be reckoned with..

Be advised though that Maiden isn't playing Ozzfest after August 20th.

This from the Maiden site:

IRON MAIDEN ARE UNABLE TO PLAY THE OZZFEST DATES AFTER AUG 20th DUE TO PRIOR COMMITMENTS HEADLINING MAJOR UK FESTIVALS. SORRY.

I wonder who they'll add to replace them.

I was gonig to post this in the metal thread the other day, but it was when the forums went wonky. I forgot about it after that.

The show is looking awesome. Any idea when tickets go on sale?

I can't wait to see who their other headliner turns out to be.

I saw him at Ozzfest three years ago, I think. Man, he forgot like half of his lyrics. Far too many drugs, I think.

I disagree completely. Ozzfest 99 Rob Zombie fucking owned. Haven't seen him since though. *shrug*

Eminem

goddamit, Griese!
yeah, Zombie has always tore shit up when i've seen him.

tickets are supposed to go on sale around the end of april.

also, for the mystery band there seems to be rumors that it could be one of these bands:

Megadeth
Anthrax
AC/DC

....if it was AC/DC that would be the best thing of all time, ever. but i'm quite positive that won't happen :lol

Time ta STEP IT UP
That's an alright line up, I'm going. I go for the music, but I stay for the atmosphere. It's real fun at Ozzfest, good shit.

I wish System of a Down would play there again... I don't think they've been on tour since their "Pledge of Alliegance" tour. :(

Also, Black Label Society and Bob Zombie will demolish.

i saw zombie live in 1999 with korn (i forget the tour name) and he fucking ROCKED, then again maybe life has caught up with him in the last 6 years.

the among the living line up of anthrax is also going to be added to the main stage of Ozzfest, I hear they will confirm it sometime in april.

i've got tickets to see the ATL thrax line up at the HOB in chicago on april 30th, so i'm stoked.

april will be a good month for metal concerts at the HOB
Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity
Kreator, Vader
and Anthrax

Maiden is going to blow Sabbath off the stage every night. Ozzy is going to look stupid coming on after Maiden. They should put Sabbath on before Maiden, and let Maiden play a 2 hour set. It should be cool to hear some of those rare songs live from the first 4 maiden albums. Anyone who hasnt seen Maiden live before will be in for a treat. Tons of energy and they sound fucking great.

This would be an awesome setlist for Maiden

I hope they play (*)
guaranteed to play (**)

Prowler *
Iron Maiden **
Murder in the Rogue Morgue *
Killers *
Wrathchild *
The Prisoner *
Children of the Damned *
22 Acacia Avenue **
Number of the Beast **
Run to the Hills **
Hallowed Be Thy Name **
The Trooper **
Revelations **
Die With Your Boots On **
Still Life *

and if In Flames covers at least a few songs from Jester Race, Whoracle, and Colony I should he happy

Malleymal

You now belong to FMT.
went to this ozzfest a couple years ago when I was doing business with ADEMA, very good show from what I saw, although I am not a rock head at all, I still had a great time with them and the performances... I may go back and check it out this year...

just reading all of those makes me hard. when they play The Trooper I don't know how I'm going to contain myself.

Ugh. What a fucking waste of a perfectly good mystery.

I'll go to this, but that mystery has pissed me off. How the hell does Mudvayne get on the main stage with bands like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Shadow's Fall, and Black Label Society?

I'm trying to head out to Wacken-Open-Air this year. I should have a much better time there.

I don't need anything else.

Anyone else think As I lay dying is a bit over rated?

Man, if they could only get Iced Earth or Blind Guardian, that coupled with Iron Maiden and Sabbath would be the ultimate!
