For a game based on the thrill of guitar playing, these are insanely good choices. Throw in Honky Tonk Woman for kicks. Of course, the list could be endless... But given the previous GHs, this list kicks butt.

If GHIII has these, I'm in. Maybe it'll motivate me to take out the Epiphone Casino and learn Cliffs of Dover, one of the best guitar instrumentals in some time (circa 1990, though he'd been performing it live for quite awhile). No matter you're tastes in genres, this song alone is worth the entry for what your fingers will look like afterwards. Auntie Anne's Pretzels will welcome you...

Apparently, it's fake. According to Scorehero mods, the final encore is something that hasn't been customed or been talked about for wishlists before.

Also, Velvet Revolver, Atreyu, etc. aren't on this list. It's a good list otherwise.

I think Rock Band's setlist plays more to my sensibilities as a music fan. I can see why some people would go nuts over getting to play Eric Johnson but it's not my thing really. Kool Thing is a great choice, though. And Kudos to them for picking a pre-Green weezer song.

What I'm loving about the GH3 setlist (and what I loved about the GH2 set list) is that it has variety. It's not all my favorite music, but I like to be able to play all different types of rock (classic, heavy metal, deathmetal, new rock, punk, power).

GH1 had very mainstream and conservative choices for most of the songs. Rock Band seems to be going even more mainstream...nothing but mainstream MTV, basically.

i know they are big in south america (argentina especially), but in the US would be new to me...
but cool ^^ moreso, because they chose a german song although the band has several good english ones.

Zeppelin is the whole band. I think the only shot we might have is if we petition Cameron Crowe to talk to Plant/Page/Jones and convince them of the artistic value of GH and or Rock Band.

No one person excited about Priestess?

Overall that's a much better set list than I was expecting--Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Priestess, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Sabbath, The Sex Pistols, Weezer, Pearl Jam, The Dead Kennedys, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, White Zombie, Tenacious D, Slipknot (not a huge fan of the band but I like that track), Iron Maiden, and Rise Against all kind of stand out for me.

The game went from being something I wasn't even considering buying to a definite pick-up, provided they can nail the gameplay.

Are the songs covers or masters?

They are not, but hopefully this game draws some attention to them. Hier Kommt Alex is probably my favorite song on this setlist, followed closely by One. Hopefully, people play the bonus songs because there's some good stuff in there on GH3.

sp0rsk, have you had the opportunity to see Eric live? If you have, you know how amazing the man is. If not, you must.

I'm not sure if he ever makes it over to Japan; though, I understand they're into their guitar gods. Seeing Eric live is an eye and ear boggling experience; his "slapdash" rig is cool to see in person as well (complete with rubber bands). He's the only guitar virtuoso I enjoy listening to for...enjoyment. Everything he played off of Ah Via Musicom was amazing, as well as the other albums (including Bloom). Normally, I'd guess I fit into the (oddly) labeled alternative section and old R&B, but I have a soft spot for Eric Johnson

Satriani, Malmsteen, or Vai...not so much. Though, they are great showmen.

Really, really nice person, to boot. He gave away a signed Fender Eric Johnson Strat at the concert and chatted up the winner (which was cool given his usually quiet, shy demeanor). For everyone that browsed Neodiablo22's awesome post above, "Cliffs of Dover" proper begins at the 2:36 mark; the rest is just lead-in. Ah, that violin tone...

Also, hopefully GHIII gets "Funk #49." I've seen it listed on some rumor sites. I'd even pay extra, gasp
