PA on Xbox Live Mark II

Aside from seeing balls everywhere, I think it also ruins the "fantasy" element of many games...to have still images from the "real world" interspersed. I really hope it's only for things like video chat outside of games or eyetoy'ish things.

I think its going to be great feature if you can map your face into sport and racing games. It would be fun to see your opponents real face when you overtake them in a racer. :D Or maybe not...he could have his man berries mapped on his face. :(

There are worse things people will paste in the games...anyone who plays CS would know this.
FUCK DON'T REMIND ME.

I think the shining moment was when my corpse was spray-painted with the lovely image of some hardcore gay sex. Nothing says "beatdown" better than that.

It sounds like a terrible idea. If it's optional ie you can turn off user images (or only accept images from people you want to accept them from) then I wouldn't be bothered. I can't imagine Microsoft doing that though...

Awesome Penny Arcade cartoon btw :lol Probably the funniest PA in a while

:lol That's the funniest thing I've read on here in ages :lol

I hope there'll be a way to switch off all user-created avatars or whatever, replace them with defaults.

I also hope they'll let us switch off voices.

The MS UI for controlling all this stuff in-game is pretty slick...we're going to see some stuff we've never seen before in terms of the underlying system being accessible in-game.

Yeah, this is bringing back memories of Jet Grind Radio on the Dreamcast, where you could upload your own graffiti tags. People were tagging buidings and sidewalks with a plethora of images of penis and vagina. I just can't wait until I see someone customize thier car with soft porn <note sarcasm>. People are stupid, and it lookslike they'll have the tools to display this talent creatively. <moan>...........

...in every game as well.

Hooray for innovation...?

All of the new Live features seem completely geared at 15-year-old boys.

This comic is exactly what I'm afraid of.

I don't see how this can advance the fun of gaming at all. But I also don't think people will post indecent pictures. Anyway, great comic.

You underestimate the average xbox live user

You know I think that on a whole most people on this planet want to be good people... but even I don't agree with the above post.

Back in the day, Ralph Baer invented an arcade game that utilized a camera where top-scoring players could have their picture in the rankings, along with their abbreviations I guess. Well anyway, it took all of one day for them to cancel the project when they tested it in an arcade. A player had dropped his pants for the birdy

They could just pre-approve every picture before it gets used in-game like various web based things do for picture services. Only takes half a second to see if a tiny thumbnail shot is obscene or not. Bunch of Microsoft interns could do it.
