The Indian Express said:
Two army jawans were killed by Pakistani troops in an attack on a patrol party along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

During patrolling along Mankote in Poonch along the LoC, a patrol party was attacked by Pakistani troops, army officials said.

Two jawans were killed and another was injured, they said, adding that further details were awaited.

The incident comes two days after Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked heavy firing in Uri sector in Kashmir. However, Pakistan had accused India of attacking its forward locations across the LoC killing its one soldier.

During the last one month, there have been increase in incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops. The Indian Army attribute these incidents to ``desperate attempts’’ by Pakistani troops to push in militants into Jammu and Kashmir.

Translation note: jawan = soldier

So is this an act of war or is it just viewed as an incident in the on going Pakistan/India saga.

on going saga... They'll just their put troops up there and nothing will happen. As election time in Pakistan right now... Army is trying prevent PML-N or Imran Khan to come into power..

Pakistan sources say Pakistan was attack unprovoked... Indians media say the same thing for their side.

The Kashmir issue really needs to be resolved though.

This wasn't for any reason though, 2 days ago the Indian army killed a Pakistani soldier:

That's mentioned in the OP.

BBC put up their version of the story. I have no idea if The Indian Express is a trustworthy source or not.

Indian troops shot dead near Kashmir's Line of Control

Two Indian soldiers have been shot dead in the disputed Kashmir region between India and Pakistan, officials say.

An Indian army spokesman said a patrol was attacked by Pakistani soldiers in "a grave provocation" near the so-called Line of Control.

The deaths came two days after a Pakistani soldier was killed near the LoC.

Kashmir is claimed by both nations in its entirety and has been a flashpoint between them for more than 60 years.

Tuesday's shootings took place near Mendhar, 220 km (140 miles) north of the Indian city of Jammu.

Exchanges in the disputed area are not uncommon but rarely result in fatalities.

There has been a ceasefire in Kashmir since late 2003.

India suspended a peace process with Pakistan following attacks by Pakistan-based militants in Mumbai in 2008. Negotiations resumed in February last year.

Last month, the nations signed an agreement to ease visa restrictions on travel for some citizens.
