PAL Charts - Week 21, 2014

The turnaround this gen in the UK for Sony is rather impressive.

Despite the downgrade-gate, I'm glad to see a new IP doing so well in rather precarious times in our industry.

And well done to MK8 - I had a WiiU at launch, but got rid of it after only a few months. May well have to reinvest in one at some point again.

It's amazing how many people (though apparently not yourself) seemed to believe that would factor in sales. It always was, and always will be a storm in a teacup. Almost the entirety of the people purchasing Watch Dogs last week would have no idea what that was about.

Absolutely.

The vast majority of buyers simply saw the game for what it was and bought it, oblivious to the shit-storm in gaming forums.

It's admittedly not perfect, but I've spent a very, very enjoyable time with it so far, and the potential for a huge increase in quality is there for Watch Dogs 2, as there was from Ass Creed 1 to 2.

Big growth in Digital/Online (+25%) and Mobile (+83%) and console hardware (+38%).

Gaming seems to be doing pretty good in the UK based on this.

Would love to know how much of the digital is DOTA2, LoL and how much are the digital downloads of retail games vs. micro-transactions in console games.

The common misconception is that the uk games industry is doing bad because all we play is fifa. It is kinda true but we play other games dammit!

Solid result for MK8! Smashing game, the gaf tournament is madness.
