The campaign for this one has been huge these last weeks. Fuck off with your silly exclusive contents Sega.

"With the second week of Wimbledon now coming to an end we find not one but two Tennis titles back in the chart, with Sega’s ‘Virtua Tennis 4’ (+111%) flying up the rankings from No20 to No5 and 2K Sports/Take 2’s ‘ Top Spin 4’ (-6%) up two places from No10 to No8."

As in too high or too low?

Seeing how it was doing this weekend on Amazon.uk,and all the talk about the save-question,much much higher than what I believed it would have done.
I thought about 30th...I'm surprised.

It's being fairly heavily advertised on TV, highlighting the online coop, revelations demo and the graphics look look pretty impressive.

How can a game starved 3DS owner resist!

Well, in that case, it is worth noting that while 13/40 may seem like a high position, you do have to consider what games are above it and how many weeks (or in many cases, months) they have been out.

That's true, and Zumba is becoming a real monster thanks to reduced price and Nintendo's help in advertising...but,with all these factors considered,I believed in a 30th position, not in a near top10 debut.
However, now what I'm wondering is: why Mercenaries 13th,and DOA neither in top40?

Transformers Dark of the Moon X360 is 3rd, while the PS3 version is 24th, that's a shockingly big gap no? Or are sales that close at this time of the year?

it is 13 in sku by sku chart; it is 21 in combined sku
http://www.chart-track.co.uk/index.jsp?c=p/software/uk/latest/index_test.jsp&ct=110015

and RE is arguably more popular than DOA, when considering the franchise; and RE:M is a very good shooter with a very good online co-op on a handheld which is rare, while DOA was a fighter coming after SF4.

It is obvious that RE is a far more important franchise than DOA...but DOA4 on 360 obtained to debut at the top place in UK.
And,while RE is a spin-off,DOA is a "main" chapter (it has the story of the brand in it)...and the latter has come 2 months, circa, after SSFIV.So,not so near the launch.
However,it seems that the problem its the brand itself, which lost a lot of its appeal.
And the American debut, and even the Japanese results (about 40k according to Famitsu) confirm this.

Low sales all around. Guardian's top 10 put the platform split at 66/34 so if the top 40 this week is like last week, the 360 version sold ~10k and the ps3 ~5k copies.

Also F.3.A.R. (what the heck with the name...) has a very wide difference between the two versions.
Second on 360,20th on PS3.
So strange...
Moreover,Guardian's top10 confirms gives the answer to Shorty11857's question:it seems that sales are very close between the various positions in this time.

Zumba sold 42.6k this week, Zumba Wii (90%) sold 38.3k, Zumba 360 (9%) sold 3.8k. Resident Evil 3DS sold less than 3.8k.

What's interesting is that Kinect has sold to almost the same ratio compared to the Wii itself (90 million vs 10 million), which makes me to conclude that whoever that owns kinect, is choosing to buy the kinect version, which leads me to come to two options:

- Kinect is the option of choice over Wii
(and/or) - Kinect isn't selling to those who have already bought a wii

either way, its a good situation for microsoft.

Finally noticed the Zumba craze sweeping across my sisters and my girlfriends friends. They're all buying the Kinect version. Two of my sisters went out an bought a Kinect just for Zumba and now I'm the only 360 owner I know that doesn't have a Kinect. I intend to stay that way.

Relatively poor showing for RE:M. What are 3DS owners playing?

Man if this 3.8k figure for Zumba 360 is right (and with the percentages we get it is). Anything not named Zumba Wii sold like shit this week. it would put F3AR 360 at <7.6k

Going by the previous months figures it looks like Zumba fitness is now the top selling game in the UK for 2011. Only games that stand a chance of still being ahead are CoD:Blops and Just Dance 2.

June was its best selling month so far so it doesn't look like it will be going away any time soon.
