Crazy. Even in a fairly close market like the UK Japanese games are leaning so hard on PS4. Was Final Fantasy XIII the same?

Not really in terms of absolute sales. Drops are comparable to other big titles. It just looks that way because there's loads of big games released right now. WD/TF launches happened in relatively quiet periods.

Anyway, fantastic debut for Borderlands, hope we aren't left waiting too long for a current gen port.
Good performance from TEW as well. Sad to see Isolation collapse, but not surprising. Colonial Marines pretty much killed the Alien IP.
If anything pushes Mario Kart up a bit it'll be Smash and we're a month and a half away from that.
Italy: where even Wii and PS Vita FIFA chart.
Vita title in the top 10?

Just opinion as an old man who loved Resident Evil style horror games, but I am really liking Evil Within and am happy that both the genre and Japanese developers are doing well this early into the new generation.
Climate + entertaining politics as well.
do we know the instal base numbers of the two?
PS4 is a more popular console.
Maybe this type of game attracts more the PlayStation public ? Third Person, zombies, kinda slow, like Last of Us.

It should be 1.5:1 in favor of PS4.
Of course, but all recent games didn't have difference that big (74% more), the latest game where there was such big difference was Watch_Dogs (80% more) which was heavily bundled and advertised for PS4.

Yeah, those Q3 stats posted make it seem like the gap is getting wider now.
I guess its a mix between more appealing to the PS audience and larger install base.

Might heave something to do with it being cheaper to buy digitally on X1 if you take advantage of the region free nature of the Xbox store?
I thought it be install base, but that split is indeed hard to explain by just looking at install bases.

I'm very happy about The Evil Within sales, I hope it shows the publishers there's a market for the survival horror games. Even with its technical flaws, I'm enjoying it a lot .
.Eh, I'd doubt it was that, since it's almost as easy for someone to do the same on the PS4 if they're so inclined.
Everything skews towards PS4, but I wonder if PS+ having outlast as a PS+ title at one point, and a timed exclusive helped it carve out more of the horror genre fanbase.
Edit: Also titles like Last of Us must have helped the cause further.

Good point. I'd forgotten about the Q3 numbers.
Still, the split is much wider than it really should be. It's weird, especially when you take the £305 Tesco bundle into account.

They'd probably be digital on both, but there isn't a digital version of Minecraft in stores yet... At least at game.co.uk.

That software gap is really starting to take hold now the big guns are coming out.
There was ~150k gap in August and ~250K gap for September. In fact PS4 sold more software than the 360 in September. Is that a first? Certainly this year anyways.

It was a complete shot in the dark more than anything. It's really weird to see such a big spilt, there has to be something at play.
It's not like the genre appeals more to one fanbase more than the other.

It's a Japanese game? Last gen in the US/UK, the one time that multipltform games would either sell more on the PS3 or come close was when it was a Japanese game. So i'd say that it's just about PS owners being more interested in Japanese developed games.

Sunset bundle is £350. So maybe it's n4ut as permanent as they led on?
Or the standard X1 will remain £329 with the Sunset bundle £350?
While Grid was inexcusable, this game seems to be a contractual obligation to get one out the door a year as the current gen versions aren't ready yet.
Yeah I remember that article. I read "UK only retail promotion" as some sort of temp offer, not a definitive cut on MSRP though.

I really hope publishers start going next gen only next year full force (minus your yearly sports titles of course).
