Looking at LTD I believe is kinda disappointing relative speaking. People was expecting Battlefront to be huge.

I'm curious to see how it did on NPD.

Pretty much. The numbers are good, I just expected more given the positioning of the title and how much it was pushed out in the holidays before Force Awakens launched. It's pretty clear that the reviews and/or WoM hit the game quite hard.

I expect 1.5-2 million. It's definitely not doing nearly as well as many expected.

Don't know where all this "ouch" from Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming from. I'm more amazed it charted at all and I'm sure it sold in Nintendos expectations unless they're completley blind. A JRPG-ass JRPG on a Nintendo console.

I'm too lazy to search and my memory is pretty poor but isn't its sales number of par with the launch week of Pikmin 3 (or something like that which at the time was taken as big first party Nintendo games always do that) but there are a lot more systems owned now than there were then. I guess late life in a system is always a tough place to be for sales.

There isn't growth yet and those numbers include last gen sales. Most people are transitioning, not bringing in new people.

I thought they were up this year overall?

Plus COD has problems with franchise fatigue, poor previous entries, as well as the increasing shift in digital sales, likely up to 20% this year vs 15% last year if those yearly 5% digital sales increase forecasts were accurate. Or I didn't just dream the whole thing.

Overall, the markets very healthy though, even with the glut of disappointing AAA releases. No need for doom and gloom!

I don't understand how the publishers didn't see that releasing Tomb Raider and Rainbow 6 now would be a bad idea.
The general conclusion here has always been it would really hurt there sales.
I feel bad for them, atleast for TR which is a good game.

Halo 5 release date was fine, it was MCC and I guess 343 in general that made H5 sell poor imo. The low reviews (for a halo game) probably didn't help either.

I got my copy of Xenoblade from the Nintendo store. LE isn't available on amazon. Dunno if charttrack cover those sales.



It has zero buzz behind it. Feels pretty rushed. I'll probably ask for it as a crimbo present from someone, and I only do that for games I'm only vaguely interested in. :/

Judging from all the reviews, it doesn't feel rushed at all.

It would be interesting to compare PS4 Uncharted Collection numbers first few week numbers with those of XBO Tomb Raider.

I don't think Microsoft expected it'd be the remaster they'd be competing with when making the deal, and still effectively losing.

It'll get a bump, but not as big as some people are saying. I just don't think there's that many people that are suddenly going to be turned onto Star Wars that weren't already, or suddenly realise that one of those new fangled videogame things are out about Star Wars and pick it up after seeing the film. Although I'm not factoring any sales any stores might have.

They brought it out at the right time, let people buy it to try and make the wait for the film easier.

yeah, M&L Paper Jame worst debut than XCX, that increased the debut performance over the first episode despite being released on a way weaker console. M&L has no excuse, imho.
