I have a similar sized HDTV from Samsung and it looks great. If you're like me and usually play games sitting 5 feet from the TV, then it'll work for you. Even when I'm lounging in the couch its not bad, but the couch is only 10 feet away.

As for this specific TV I don't know, but it seems like a good deal.

Why not run to a B&M CC and take a look at it, I think I'll do that tomorrow, since this seems like it might be a good deal - and if not, it's small enough to use in a bedroom or a smaller room if I want to upgrade to something else later.

of course, if you have no CC near you then that's another issue. :) I'm sure it has to be on display on the floor at a CC though.

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
Unless there's something inherently wrong w/ that model, that's a damn good deal.

My theory is that all CRT (direct view, not projection) sets, especially the sub 30" ones will fall in price because they're not moving many. People don't care about IQ by and large, but form factor maore than anything (apparently).

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
That's an unbelievable deal. This is the most popular 26" CRT at AVS Forum; most people think it's even better than the comparable, but now discontinued, Samsung sets. For that price, it's a steal.

The only issue is that it won't accept 720p signals. Just make sure that any HD equipment you have (360, STB, upconverting DVD player, etc) will scale to 1080i internally. Almost everything nowadays does, though.

I'm pretty sure it is 2 component, and it also has HDMI input.

My friend is picking this set up, and I'm considering getting one now as well.

oh, and one thing I saw some people complaining about. Apparently this isn't a flat screen. It's called "Pure Flat." I assume it's better then a normal tube, but it isn't flatscreen flat.

But if the people on AVS recommended it, I don't see a problem.

What's the point of having an HDTV this small?

dude, I'm coming from a 20" Toshiba.

This thing will probably look huge plus the picture will be incredible.

Plus, money. Money money.

Ok, going from a 20 inch SDTV to a 26 HDTV is not as huge a jump as you might think. I just bought a Samsung DynaFlat TX-P2670WH for $375 at Target last month and I bringing it back to them soon (I have to Jan). The main reason is that it is wayyyyy to small for living room viewing. My HDTV is justas big as yours will be. I am very unhappy with it. It also is a bitch to carry, (100.3 Lbs.) very awkward, so God help you if live in a 6th floor walk up.

Yep, the viewing distance for a 27" HDTV (to see all the details) is about 3 feet (8 feet for SDTV). The smaller you go the closer to the TV you'll need to be to see the true upgrade you get with HDTV. I'm using my 27" Samsung HDTV in my room so i'm always pretty close to the TV anyways. But for a living room, a big screen HDTV is the way to go (unless its a small living room).

Yeah, that's what I mean. The smaller you get, the less you'll even notice a difference....particularly if you sit 10-12 feet from the set. For the money, a bigass SDTV might be cooler.

This might technically be true, but at least for small tube HDTV's like the Samsung and Panasonic they only resolve maybe 800X480 individual pixels (my 27" Samsung is officially 824x464), but the real difference comes from the VASTLY increased accuracy of an HDTV signal that the television can receive and shoot against the screen. They can be a huge step up.
