PAX East 2015 Discussion Thread

This should be interesting; my first PAX East where I have to drive in instead of using the MBTA (I used to live downtown but just moved to the suburbs last summer). I've heard parking horror stories around PAX.. wish me luck.

I'd really like two Baron Blade pins from the Greater Than Games booth (5224), but I'd be thrilled with one. If anyone can get me one or two I'll gladly pay for shipping and a little bit extra for your trouble. Thank you!

BCEC area looks pretty damn solid. There's no puddles of slush which is probably the best part of walking through the city. Worst part is that killer wind shreds any bare skin apart with its chill. But living next to the Hudson in NYC, I'm used to it.

Anyone know of anyone needing a 3 Day PAX EAST Badge? I'm in Boston already.
$95
Not looking for profit. Person it was for isn't coming.
Will sell it after 9:30am ish due to going one hotel to another
DM me if interested
Going to sleep now. I hope

Get out of work at 7am, then hitting the road. Gonna get some sleep on the way up from Philly, then hit up the bar scene in Boston.

We have Saturday badges, then sunday is the day to see some sights. Great weekend ahead!

I have heard the same, but in 2013 I showed up around 1pm and was able to find parking pretty easily. Must have gotten extremely lucky.

The sidewalks are actually pretty decent, considering most have a pile of snow on the side of them. Still it's pretty walk-able but I haven't been to the BCEC just yet.

I walked from BCEC to Chinatown today at ~6:30pm. It's 100% walk-able. We'll see how that holds up across the weekend when it's supposedly getting warmer and shit starts turning into slush.

(Still, I really wouldn't want to be in a 2-hour baggage check queue this year)

I thought this sentiment of Jerry's was rather sweetly put:

It is Friday, March 6th, which means that PAX East is about to get underway. I am the easiest person in the world to talk to, so if you see me there and if you need something from me, let me know. There are many asymmetries in our relationship, to be sure, but in a few non-trivial ways you are essentially my employer. So you can expect cowed deference from me, in keeping with your exalted station.

Ok. On the train in to south station, then gym, breakfast, and PAX.

Very, VERY excited to check everything out. Especially the indies.

There were a good number of spots in the LAZ lots between Congress and Purchase street its 19.00 for the day so its not too terrible.

Aye by the time my friends and I get there we are going to try and get into Bunch of Dads then make a b line for the indie mega booth.

In the shuttle bus rolling out to the con to pick up my badge /shirt. Beautiful morning in this city. Looking forward to seeing what the day has in store. After a satisfying workout last night, I'm feeling good today. Look for me wearing a black GAF shirt off shift.

So, I've been a fat ass lately. Anticipating PAX gluttony, I went on a mini diet. Low calorie days, no booze for a couple weeks.

Apparently I became a lightweight!

High of 21 today. Welcome!

Hope the badges a friend was sending me are at home when I get out of work. Was kinda expecting them yesterday

Is there anyone going this weekend that could possibly see about pre-ordering one of the new Rock Band 4 Penny Arcade guitars? They didn't really announce much in the way of details so I have no idea how much they want for them. I can paya little extra for helping me out but so far I have had no luck getting a hold of anyone that is going. Thanks for any help guys.

I'm in the lobby now. Bag check was slack, so in quick.

I'm wearing a blue zipper hoodie, jeans and have a brown backpack. Under hoodie is a blue/green/white plaid button up. Don't be shy, come up an say hi.

And I ate a very heavy breakfast today, because I anticipate not getting any proper meals till late evening. This year I was at least smart enough to pack some snacks so I can avoid wasting half an hour in the hot dog line.

For what its worth this is me:

I'll be wearing a gray + orange backpack, black t-shirt and vest (with a turbine logo on the back, I don't work there anymore).

UBER fluctuates a whole lot. I've been able to semi-consistently snag an e.g. 1.2x when the surge hovers around 1.8x- patience is key. GAF is no stranger to mashing F5, anyway.

That hotline Miami 2 line. They were a little too generous with time for that. It would have been a 30 minute wait for something imma buy in a few days anyway.
