[Great Wasabi Man]

A month ago my PC broke..it's a Dell and well I'd have an easier time communicating with deaf, blind retarted monkies then with Dell so I'm gonna try fix it myself I just don't know what the hell is wrong.

Basically it boot up to where it starts booting windows shuts off then gets progessivly worse till it just won't start up anymore. I had dell replace the mobo (which was like pulling teeth) but it still does the same thing. Now they want to replace the processor, fan and heat sink but I think it may be the powersupply is shot.

anyone got any ideas what the hell is wrong withthis PoS besides it being a dell?

I don’t think it's the power supply.

When you say "gets progessivly worse till it just won't start up anymore" do you mean will it start up again later and it's not dead completely?
If so it may be the cpu fan.

are there any sounds that are or aren't being made? improper spinning of HD non-venting from fans... I assume this is a desktop as well....

I'd say processor and fan are good bet. Could be problems with overheating. Seriously, I work with Dell all the time and my job, and their tech support isn't as bad as you make it sound. Much better than most in the industry.

Thats a common cpu problem.. Dell sucks yes.. but in this case. Dell > You

Sorry it took so long for me to reply all I have at home is my GF really old G4 to "share" with her...

oh no the Tech guys are fine it's the Customer Serivce reps that suck....If you really think I'm exagerating I will post the whole story but it's rather long.

Just an example of thier "great help"

Me: The PC won't stay on at all, at this point it won't turn on more then a second
CS: Oh ok...turn off your pc
Me: but it's not on...it won't turn on.
CS: ....hold on please...ok turn your PC off.

it sad when the tech who came to my house had the same conversation with dell. It's odd really my first PC (Actually second my first was a gateway that lasted me a whole 2 months before I sent it back) was a dell and I had no problems with CS or thier techs, nothing like this past month of Dell from Hell....lol

It's wierd when it first started happening it would be differnt amounts of time it would stay on. I got it up long enough to re-install windows, but now it just comes up for about 5 minuets then eventually just truns on then right back off. I did get a beep but it sounded like someone kicked a cow in the balls.

A tech guy is coming this weeke to replace the CPU, Heatsink and the fan so hopefully that'll work.
