I'm new to PC games and downloading patches, so help me out.
I just picked up Rome: Total War, and based on advice I read, I downloaded the 1.2 patch before even starting the game. It took several hours with 56k, so I let it download overnight, and this morning I only checked to see that the download completed successfully before heading to work.
So what do I need to do now? I downloaded the patch to the same "Data" folder that holds most of the game files. I guess I need to unzip it if it has a "zip' extent, but other than that, do I need to actually run something, or is its presence in the game folder enough for it to take effect?
