PD0 Trailer from X05 !

ok, my computer fucking sucks and chugs like hell on this video, but from what (very) little i saw, the game looked pretty good. the video itself however with live action footage mixed in was terrible.

the clapping at the end was funny though.
 
Am I going to have to take back my crow eating in the other picture thread? That video looked like shit. And live action footage??! What the hell are we in, the 32 bit generation?
 
I've got the whole second video. I had to use a download client to resume cause the connection kept disconnecting.
 
Okay, i'm now confused. There seems to be a couple of trailers that make the 360 look great, and a bunch that make it look 1.5ish.

WTF is a person supposed to believe here? I mean that looks like crud. NBA2K6 looks great.

WTF happened to RARE, and what have 200+employees been doing all this time? I only hope that Kameo isn't a collectathon, becuase I just got done playing StarFox adventures again, and besides the great graphics and sound, it blows hard chunks. What is RARE's obsession with collecting worthless shit to progress?

No keep eating the crow, the 60MB gameplay video looks really good

They've drastically improved the physics that we saw from that other presentation of this level. Enemies are not flying in the air when you shoot them anymore.



During the co-op demonstration there are little screens popping up Ghost Recon style to show you what the other person is doing. I'm not sure if this is MS overlaying the other persons screen or if it's part of the game though.

The video is very dark since it's shakey cam footage off of the big presentation screen. They say the blue arrows are just there to help people on the extremely easy setting.

Here's a clue: Each game is developed by a different team of persons. Yes, i know, unbelievable! And each of these team's efforts/skill vary in making the best looking games possible. It's called talent. ;)
 
Anyone asking if Kameo is going to be a collectathon is not following these games very closely. :lol

WTF does that mean? Are you attempting sarcasm? Whit? So, what teams did Donkey Kong, Banjo, Star-Fox, e.t.c.? What the HELL have the other teams been doing?

I am really wondering what the HELL has been going on over at RARE. They have always been known for delays, and slow-game making but this is insane.

Why not, on THIER WEBSITE release a REAL trailer for the game? It's been in developement for 50 years. Instead we get treated to half-ass laimbrain trailers from the 80's, and wall-guy.

FFS.

I thought there were some bad looking graphics in there, but it was impossible to tell. That trailer almost gave me a seizure and I still have no idea what PD0 looks like.

They say at the end of the presentation that more footage is coming and that everyone will be able to play the game.

Donkey Kong 64 ---> Kameo
Banjo ---> GbtG (and probably a new Banjo now)
Starfox ---> Noooo idea
Conker ---> New KI? Another Conker?
Perfect Dark ---> Perfect Dark Zero

I believe those are the 5 teams, aside from the handheld lot.

The textures in the environments are very good in the game like the railing and the floors and walls. Joanna's character model looks high poly, but the enemies look very cartoony like a Timesplitters game. The levels look huge. They say you will have to play through the levels many times to see everything.

Ether way... looks like crap. This is next gen, its supposed to look good w/ addition to big lvls and what not.

I don't think it looks crap. The graphics are exactly the same as they were the other day when people here were going nuts over it. It's the same exact level even. GAF = :lol
 
I wasn't one going nuts. Every screen I've seen has looked terrible.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong (which I hope) and it'll be awesome and look great! But I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen.

Wow, the Xbox fanboys really refuse to admit how lame PDZ looks. The graphics look pretty terrible (I haven't watched the 2nd video yet -- downloading) for X360 now that we've seen stuff like Ghost Recon, Call of Duty, and that new BioWare game (the name just slipped my mind, God dammit).

The graphics will DO, but considering what we've ALREADY seen the 360 do, it looks like crap compared.
 
At least they fixed the over dramatic ragdolls and included death animations.

I think rare have redeemed themselves after that horrible cutscene footage (wonder what was the source of that video and timeframe)

anyway make sure u watch the 60mb footage and turn ur brightness up.

I think this looks a lot better than Call of Duty 2. I don't think that makes you a fanboy. Maybe you should watch the actual gameplay video demonstration first.

IMO call of duty is a lot more underwhelming technically than pdo. try the demo for pc. Graphics are nothing to write home about, very scripted ai, and worse of all no physics engine so when u chuck a grenade u see 3 guys die in exactly the same way instead of ragdolling. its laughable. No fps next gen can do without a physics engine.
 
The glowing crap when using the scopes is kind of annoying and seems extremely unpracitcal. Everything else looks good.

Same here. I didn't even see the birds at first and thought that the enemies were women or something.
 
Although i have seen only the shorter vid, I think the muddled clapping at the end was due more to the fact that hardly anything was shown of actual gameplay....kinda like "is that it"response. I havent seen the larger vid tho, so maybe im off base.
 
Can someone explain to me why they felt the need to mix the trailer with a live action commercial? Who does that at a Game Convention? It was like they were embarassed to show too much of the actual gameplay.
 
actually, that second video does look awesome... i still love the art style and the level design... I like the colors, the textures and the lighting and the gameplay looks fun.

that cut scene from earlier was gag worthy and the face in that video was horrid. the first video in this thread was also disapointing, but the actual gameplay footage looks just as good as the videos we saw about a week ago and i was impressed with those.

This in not an ugly game. It's very next-gen looking and it looks fun. i'm pretty sure the framerate was a little dicey in that video though.

I think this game needs more time to cook (based on that cutscene from earlier today)
 
I don't know why they're doing the live action stuff at X05, but I do remember them doing a lot of live action stuff to promote the original Perfect Dark.

Yeah the animation is very good. The reload animations and the death animations are both good. I only wish that the enemies were as detailed and high poly as Joanna's character model is.

I didn't notice any big framerate problems from this video either, but maybe you can't tell.
 
After seeing some seriously underwhelming direct-feed video of Call of Duty 2 on G4TV.com yesterday (though there were some awesome smoke effects, but the rest was almost laughable), I thought no matter how poor PDZ looks, it'll still look better than that.

I can't believe this actually looks worse. I don't care what anyone says, this is not the same RARE that made GoldenEye and PD1; they should be fucking ashamed. What the hell is going on with this launch?!
