Peach is my wife since GDC

The depth of my fandom apparently knows no bounds.

Yeah, it's Charles Martinet AND Leslie Swan both in the same place.

(This picture takes place in my fantasy world, called Zener.)

I know, right? Actually, though the Xbox lanyards were standard issue, both Sony and Nintendo brought their own along so as to not be wearing the enemy colors.

I bet that for fun, professional voice actors stay at home and have their characters say really perverted and funny things, i.e. "Hey-a Luigi, howsabout-a you give-a me an enema?"

Bish! I'd been meaning to PM you. As it turns out, one of my editors at O'Reilly wanted to do the Commodore 64 sections in Retro Gaming Hacks. Ultimately, I had to go with an O'Reilly guy instead of someone outside the organization, knowledgeable as you may be. :(

This thread is about Leslie Swan.

Leslie who?
I just looked her up. She was the voice of Princess Toadstool / Peach in Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64.

They need to bring her back because the Princess is an idiot in Super Mario Sunshine. I can't believe she's supposed to the same cake baking goddess that was in Super Mario 64.

Yeah, having Cortana as Princess Peach just isn't right.

I see you've discovered the Kohler nose. It runs in the family. Its presence has been diluted over time, but Grandpa Kohler had a real Wario-style honker.

Charles Martinet = voice of Mario
Woman = voice of Peach. I actually thought she may have been hot. Though she is pretty for an old lass.

Charles Martinet thought I was someone else when I went to see the DS. Said something like "Hey, I remember you!"

It can only mean one thing.

Ask your mom if she was pregnant with twins.

I saw Charles Martinet do the Mario voice on tv once (electric playground I think) and I swear it was one of the creepiest things I have seen.

BUT I CANNOT HAVE ANY MORE BLOOD ON MY PENCIL! *arrrrrggghhhhh*
Put up or shut up! -_-;

Nintendo better be doing these two things:

#1: Researching a way to preserve Miyamoto's brain for well after his time is up.

#2: Researching a way to preserve Martinet's voice for well after his time is up.

Who's going to come up with wacky stuff for Nintendo and voice the Mario cast after these two guys go? :P

I think GAFFErs tend to overrate Miyamoto's involvment (not importance, making that clear). Sure he has dabbled as producer roles in many titles @ Nintendo but he isn't the only one in Nintendo making the games take shape. He can't and he hasn't done that many. I think SMS and PIKMIN were the last two where he was actively involved. He wasn't even involved in the WW I believe. Eounma was the man in charge.

As for voice actors. They're not hard to replace. Do a casting call and bam.

I think you just spelled out why some of GAF doesn't overrate him. Sweet lord, what a short, painful fall it's been!

Its not a fall. Its fact. I mean he's not like the Nintendo overlord. I'm not one of the fanboys who got too excited at seeing Miyamoto swing that sword+shield with that 1up t-shirt. He hasn't made a game that's uber great in ages (except Pikmin :))

Clever title, Chris. I just wanted to add, as apparently my fandom also knows no bounds, that Ms. Swan has a long history with Nintendo publications, namely Nintendo Power (which she no longer seems to edit, and Nintendo Player's Guides. I always wondered what she (and that other Nintendo minx, Gail Tilden) looked like. Well, she ain't no Peach... :D
