is it me, or is there nothing satisfying than a cold peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread, especially when its the crunchy kinda peanut butter? add a glass of milk to that and instant MMMMMmmMMMmm

if theres anything at all i miss from public school, its the fact that i always got PB&J for lunch. suddenly started craving them and just had about 2 sandwiches and i feel like i can go for fifty more.

GAF, how awesome is PB&J?

Anyway, Nutella & Jelly > PB&J. So true. Try it.
 
Peanut butter (on both pieces of bread) + homemade strawberry jam = godly. I also love peanut butter and banana. When I'm a whore, I add chocolate syrup, and when I'm a bigger whore, I add honey as well.

hmmmm. nutella crepes are awesome, so i might try that with jelly. might kill my teeth, however.

you guys have some really creative ideas. chocolate syrup o_O good god, man.
 
Great thread. Just 2 hours ago I had a peanut-butter and jelly sandwich as a midnight snack!

Though I use as little jelly as I can. Sugar would keep me up at night....which I guess really didn't matter because I'm up right now anyways...

Oh yeah, non-crunchy kind. Crunchy peanut-butter is an abomination to all living things on earth.

I used to be indifferent towards crunchy peanut butter until I learned that you were actually crunching on the souls of the dead babies used to make this crunchy, abominable food product.

Since too cheap to eat out, and too lazy to make something more interesting, I eat a Pb&J almost every day at my current job. (I make up for the lame factor by packing plenty of fruit though :P)
 
The texture of thick peanut butter and soft jelly is heavenly. The quality of the Jelly is important though, shit, I would use jam instead.

Crunchy peanut butter is horrible.

The creamy, sticky, texture of smooth peanut butter is exhilarating. PB sandwiches are even better warmed up. The hot, sticky butter running down your tongue, all over your dirty whore mouth...there's nothing like it. And then you swallow. Swallow into its deliciousness, accepting it as your dominating master.

I don't know why people like whole wheat. Is it because people say it's healthier? In my experience the healthier something is the worse it tastes. This apparently applies to bread.

I enjoy peanut butter and jelly best on Japanese bread.
 
Natural peanut butter + low-sugar jam on Dempster's whole wheat, I've been eating these almost everyday for the past 3+ years.

Saw this thread and promptly got hungry and made a pb and j sammich :D.

Whole wheat bread, creamy pb, and grape jelly. Soooooooo delicious!

And I like both chunky and creamy pb :).

Strawberry jelly.

Sliced bananas.

Milk must be chocolate flavored (preferably a good powder chocolate from South America to mix in)
 
I don't get the obsession with peanut butter in some other countrys. Just feels wrong to me to have something that tastes like peanut on a sandwich.

and yes, i enjoy the crunchy peanut butter. i don't see how that's so hard to understand, particularly when you're talking about sandwich applications--texture contrast is an important factor in even the simplest food.

Oh man it's almost as if I knew this thread would be made so I bought some peanut butter and bread earlier after not having it for years. No JAM but then I've never actually had peanut and jam sandwiches after years of hearing 'pb&jelly' on Seasme Street and thinking 'wtf that sounds disgusting'. The mental affiliation will never end :(

Other excellent peanut butter combinations include peanut butter and banana, and peanut butter and apple (granny smith) sandwiches.

Edit: Also peanut butter in the UK is seriously B-grade after Sunpat stopped making American Style Smooth. If there's just one thing I admire about America, and there is just one thing I admire about America, it's your super-smooth peanut butter. There's another mental image from Sesame Street that will never leave me - seeing the peanut butter be squeezed into the jar and the way it dripped off the knife of the lucky little shit who got to eat it.
 
for those who've never tried it, i'm surprised that it sounds so bizarre. salty and sweet flavor combinations have been a basic tenet of delicious eating for ages.

i agree that PB&J is for kids. It's way too sweet, though i do enjoy the occasional PB and a thin spreading of marmalade. PB&CC sounds like the stuff of gods.
