Peanut butter and peanut butter sandwiches are great, as are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Also, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff with sliced bananas is DELICIOUS.

All creamy peanut butter, of course. Crunchy is for fools.

I don't know why people like whole wheat. Is it because people say it's healthier? In my experience the healthier something is the worse it tastes. This apparently applies to bread.

i guess it's cause it's a firmer bread than white bread. plus, ive found it easier to spread the pb&j on wheat. wheat bread tastes like shit on its own, but with pb&j, ive come to reconcile with it.

its just the different combinations of textures and tastes that make it own. stiff wheat bread, crunchy peanut butter, and smooth jelly...ugajghahdgashdgasdg *drool* my mind explodes every time.

plus, its even more rad when its chilled.

Grilled PB&J=orgasim
(if you have not tried this you must do it now!)
PB&J warmed up with the light grill of a grilled cheese is amazing.

Not big on the jelly, myself. I'll take my smooth, natural peanut butter and blackberry jam sandwiches thanks.

Out of curiosity, what does GAF do with the bread -- toasted? Straight out of the bag? Cold? I generally throw the whole sandwich in the toaster and get it nice and warm. Delicious.

I only go toasted if it's peanut butter & honey, though I eat each slice individually and not in sandwich form.

I still can't believe you creamy peanut butter sympathizers. Whole god damn world's gone mad.

After the cereal threads, the cheese thread that turned into bacon thread, and now this I can say with authority that GAF has terrific taste in foodstuffs.

I love it, you guys need to try PB + nutella

DEAR GOD.

OH it's like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Sandwich. It's wonderful! Also, I hate jelly. whooooah (the noise I make when I puke)

While I was in Germany, I craved butter sandwiches and my host mom made them for me every day. Not peanut butter, just regular butter. Then I got home, and butter sandwiches were all my grandma could eat while I was gone because she was worried about me the entire time and couldn't keep anything else down. Fucked up. Also, my grandma's occupation was psychic and tarot reader. Made it extra crazy.

Today would've been her birthday, but she died. :*(

Peanut butter is the real star of the show here. Quite possibly the most versatile food in existence.

My PB of choice is Krema's natural creamy.

Sometimes I will get a giant spoonful of plain ol' JiF and just eat it straight. I love it so much.

Favorites:

-PB & grape jam
-PB & Nutella
-PB & maple syrup
-PB & brown sugar

for those who've never tried it, i'm surprised that it sounds so bizarre.

I have tried it and it doesn't only sound bizarre to me. But it's easy to explain why. I grew up in the eastern part of germany and peanut butter was unheard of there. Peanuts always only existed in the form of snacks for a party or to some beers/alcohol.

So typically something that you would eat at the end of the day most of the times. Having it for breakfast really is strange to me. Imagine you would have the taste of beer for breakfast. Would also be bizarre for the most people who didnt grew up with it even if you would like the taste of beer.

This picture just made me want to create something else:

Peanut butter and jelly mashed between 2 oversized gooey warm chocolate chip cookies.

LIKE FUCK!

is it me, or is there nothing satisfying than a cold peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread,

Your post went wrong here.

PB&J is best on good ol' white bread. Get that wheat and whole grain shit out of my PB&J.

i usually just throw the loaf in the fridge, and when its chilled, take it out and apply the pb&j, and send it back to fridge for more cooling. i love it cold. i want it to give me brainfreeze. yes.

i must try it out with nutella though.

oh, i don't even pb&j for breakfast! it's typically a snack, lunch, or dinner thing in the u.s., so far as i know. toast and jelly is of course very common at breakfast, but peanut butter at breakfast is--in my experience--not an everyday occurrence.

I just ate a PB&J sandwich! In fact, I was wiping the crumbs of my chin while stumbling on this very thread. So it's no surprise I heartily endorse the OP.

I like it on toasted sourdough bread. Creamy peanut butter please (Jif is just fine).

do you guys put extra PB or extra J? or both in equal amounts?

i love putting extra peanut butter since i just love the thick texture of it. but the jelly is there as a safety if too much PB go in my mouth to prevent me from gagging. i usually put the jelly bread on the bottom, which is what i taste first and then make my way into the PB. i guess i want a jelly with the same texture as PB. i can dream, cant i?

bagging on pb&j is as blasphemous as hating on grilled cheese. you're fighting a losing battle if you try and take up that mantle.

My son is allergic to PB - hopefully he will outgrow it at some point, but not knowing the joy that is a PB&J sandwich saddens me...

luckily there are plenty of alternatives that are equally delicious. look into almond butter, macadamia nut butter, and the sublime cashew butter.

additionally, alton brown of good eats fame has a recipe for a peanut dipping sauce that incorporates red miso paste, tahini (sesame paste), and cashew butter. he obviously thins it to make it more of a sauce, but if you left it thick you might have a nice approximation. click here

whatever the case, there are alternatives! your son can have a fine time eating all your experiments.

he is allergic to ALL nuts, sorry...

okay, well that pretty much sucks, then. but tahini paste--as i said, made from sesame seeeds--might still be an option. not the same flavor, but "nutty" in a sense.

I just had peanut butter & jelly for lunch! First time in a while. Except I hate jelly, so I use preserves. But same difference.

I put a thin layer of peanut butter one each piece of bread, then a very little bit of jam between. This results in a hint of sweet fruit, but nothing that will overwhelm to peanut. Plus, the bread doesn't get soggy due to the peanut butter on both sides.

Great sandwich.

Peanut Butter and Jelly is FTW. But not for traveling to work or school. If I must have a sandwich, I will take the bread and toppings separately and fix the sandwich while I am at work.

Yes, it's a little OCD, but fresh PBJ > Squished PBJ

onkel please tell me you switched out that slice of bread with another :lol What you just did there is a crime.

Has anyone ever tried a peanut butter and ketchup sandwhich? The peanut butters creamy texture and the ketchups savory taste go well together
