I agree for the most part, it doesn't ruin the joke, but it just kind of drives it home a little too much. I think a better ending panel would have actually been just the background. No golfer, or Sam. GAF MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Agreed. I just like how Sam is going to murder the fellow for no apparent reason other than playing golf.

The last panel makes sense for those who follow the strip.

Gabe loves golf (played it in HS?) and Tycho hates it (I am sure you can go to the archive and find the strips on their golf outings). To have Tycho comment on a "good golf game" ads to the humor of the strip. Or at least it did for me.

Is hating PA the in thing now? I found the strip funny. Not sidesplitting funny but not worth asking where the joke is. That I find unfunny.

I don't know whether this was posted in the last PA thread, but this was from a Friday newspost:

I often wonder how many people read PA just because they hate us. We always say that if Penny Arcade doesn’t make you laugh, we at least hope it makes you mad.

So, it's not just GAF. Unless there are a select few here sending hate mail multiple times a day.

I enjoy the Perry Bible Project, but geez, do we need the latest one posted in every fricken' comic strip thread. We get it. It's good - that's why there's a semi-official thread every week.

That said, I enjoyed this Penny Arcade, although I think the edited ones that were posted were better. They could learn something about subtly from our esteemed GAFers.

Well, the latest one wasn't particularly good, but in general the series has been great.

Am i missing some relevent bit of game news here? The comic just wasn't funny. i could see if it was "Video games, the EA way", and each example had a before and after, with the after featuring some EA Trax DJ and T&A or whatever. Unless i'm mistaken, Ubisoft isn't shoehorning Sam Fisher into every one of their games.

It wasn't particularly funny. i think part of the hilarity came from the odd juxtapose of a farmer and some alien entity being buddies. With his friend in trouble, the Orbitoid solves the situation the best he knows how... by vaporizing the mailman.
