That's my point.Pimpbaa said:Except that's just a texture and looks unrealistic in motion due to the lighting not properly reflecting off the face.

Jonnyboy117 said:I agree. X360 is looking like this gen's Dreamcast so far, though I'm sure it will sell better. Apologies to Dreamcast crazies, I'm only referring to the power level of a system launched much earlier than its competitors. Soon you can make fun of Revolution for its power level even after launching later than its competitors.

The Ghost Recon stuff looks awesome...but it still isn't even remotely as detailed as the original Madden teaser trailer.Speevy said:I don't see how people can go crazy over those Ghost Recon shots, then act as though this Madden crap is somehow the fault of Xbox 360 hardware.
I hope that's true too. You know, maybe the "bullshot" joke is a good thing, give this practice an actual name so maybe they'll lay off ... probably not though. I can't wait till we see the real Killzone 2...Wyzdom said:Screenshots marketing is really getting batshit insane since a couple of years.
I hope the message from Penny Arcade can have some effect. There's a limit in fooling people. Fuck higher-res devkits doctored reply shots.

Well, the DC looked weak next to 3 consoles.
First gen PS2 games did have their fair share of problems, but you could see the potential. PS2 games generally displayed much more geometry with a whole host of effects that the DC was never able to handle. Before the PS2 was even a year old in Japan, Metal Gear Solid 2 (the demo) was playable in our homes. ZOE, The Bouncer, Tekken Tag, and a host of others all demonstrated some of its strengths. That's when I started to become interested in the hardware, really. A lot of the things it was doing were things I had really been wanting to see and was very impressed.beermonkey@tehbias said:I always hear this, but I guess I need somebody to show me.
Show me firstgen PS2 games that look better than firstgen DC games.
I'm not saying that the DC is more powerful than the PS2, FYI. But during its very short life, how did it look worse? Comparing third and fourth generation PS2 games to the DC is not a fair comparison.
This only applies to the current gen, though. Next-gen shots are all going to be high-res because they DO run at those resolutions.Fuck higher-res devkits doctored reply shots.
