For those of you thinking colder climates means less bathing, it doesn't to me. Nothing beats coming back in the house from shoveling snow being one part cold, one part numb, but amazingly one part sweaty. No doubt youre feet will have a weird feeling of wet, sticky and sweaty.

The cure is to jump in the shower and come out feeling warm and clean.
Also gives you a chance to count your toes and make sure you still have them all.

Lol, of course you do. Your hair will constantly secrete oils, how TF can you be ok with sleeping like that?
Wha? You arent even supposed to wash your hair more than once per 3 days, since those oils are actually good for it. Otherwise you go bald much earlier. I dont have a prob with washing each day, I just dont agree that it should be because of the hair, if anything you should avoid to shampoo it more than once per 3 days, if it gets wet its fine, i mean you're in the shower.

Haha nobody thinks that I hope! The concept of sweat and it's accompanying odour has to be viewed from an individual perspective taking like I've said I to account genetics and nutritional intake.

With that said..

Reading your post stirs something in me. Being born in Nova Scotia I've always had some inherent "thing" going on with cold weather and snow. Must be by proxy association lol but still, your post painted a vivid picture which I'm thankful for.

That's weird, that low percentage is not how I know people in my country, most people I know shower daily, or even twice a day.. Hmm...

I have 2 or 3 showers a day. Get a wash you scruffs!

I used to shower before and when I got home and everything in between.

Not for cleanliness though. That was a mere byproduct of my initial intention.

What is a shower?

To wash away accumulated filth?

Mental or physical?

Both perhaps?

We're washing away accumulation.

Physical dirt and mental dirt

It's a cleansing ritual

"Shower Toughts" anyone?

A shower can serve as a reset.

I'm not buying it, especially when there's no data to back it up. Not even a webpage linked to a study or survey. Pure BS.

but I thought Japanese took bath every day...
maybe Animu bathing scenes were wrong & all that hot spring videos were fake. :(

(I take shower once a day + full bath once in a while)

Also: I still go to the gym when it’s cold. I still walk my dog up 12% grades when it’s 20F outside. I still play my drums. I work up a sweat in all cases, and I usually want my lady to touch my dick, so…besides the fact I hate the feeling of having residue on me or smelling bad, there are others to consider.

Wash your ass you goddamn heathens

Two times a day for me. Full shower before bed and a quick rinse before I start the day in the morning.

I'm an every other day type traditionally. If I have a job that's physically demanding I'll go for every day, but handwashing, Teeth brushing, mouthwash, cologne and just not generally being a messy person makes it feasible.

i shower daily here in England, i don't feel clean if i don't, although having a bath now is a luxury what with the ott energy prices.

It is possible to over shower. I have had to change soaps and force myself to go every-other-day because of over drying my skin. Honestly, I was like a clean Pig-Pen.

As a Brazilian, is basically a rule to shower by morning and by night. I use shampoo one day yes, one day no

Bonus: clean my apartment one day, two weeks later to clean again

I don't get these I don't shower when it's cold comments. Don't you all have heaters? I feel dirty if I go a day without showering even if I didn't sweat!
You feel dirty because you've destroyed your skin"s natural functions by washing it too much.

It's supposed to lubricate to keep it from drying out, but when you wash that away it increases production to compensate. So where if you don't obsess about washing you could go days without washing and feeling gross, you end up needing to wash 1 or more times per day because you feel crimy so soon.

The irony is that washing too much is a self fulfilling prophecy, and you become the gross grimebag you're terrified of being.

I mean as a New Zealander I have a hard time believing we bathe less than 3rd world countries, some of which don't even have ubiquitous running water or toilet facilities.

But also, obviously completely made up stats.

This guy! Lol I don't obsess, I'm definitely not terrified and washing once a day isn't washing "too much". I just shower daily. Bathe you dirty heathen or don't. 😂

I agree, I could go days without washing and feeling gross if I were a filthy slob like those defending not showering daily.

For all the people who dont bathe daily, it goes to show how many people dont work out or are hermits during summer heat. I'll give the benefit of the doubt even most pigs will shower after sweating like crazy.

Then again, maybe they just care about smelling bad and getting sweat stains all over their clothes and bedding.

By sick you mean clean? 🤣
I mean sick:

Also, some doctors say the human immune system needs a certain amount of exposure to microorganisms and dirt to create protective antibodies, and frequent showers over time could be contributing to allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases and even diabetes.

Michael Phelps practices 5 to 6 hours a day. I can't believe he is still with us. Guy will probably tip over any second now.
