I will. I have read the numerous comment's on the matter but from my personal experience it indeed felt that way. I mean if I didn't get that vibe from when I played it I wouldn't be saying it. Though I can understand where the disagreements come from.

I just don't see how P3 is clearly darker than P4, unless we are talking specifically about aesthetics.

Okay. It amazes me to see how many people ignore the main aspect of Persona 4, which happens to be the characters struggling with diverse psychological problems (I would argue some weren't really problems, but that is not the point) and focus only in the "detective" side of it. Persona 3 surely had a lot of drama and dark moments, but that doesn't make of Persona 4 a light and goofy game. Both games are dark in their own ways.

I doubt there'll be any screens of Persona 5 for a while. The game a year away at least. Maybe they'll have the first gameplay trailer bundled with P4A2 or something. That would fit the timing of starting to show actual content about 6 months or less before release.

I seriously don't know what people are expecting with Persona. So far we've had 4 Persona games with a school setting, and suddenly people start expecting something completely different?

That's exactly what Persona is: Shin Megami Tensei "lite" on school settings. That's the escence of the series, it's a spin-off of the main Shin Megami Tensei franchise.

The gameplay is horrendous (same goes to P2, IMO). The characters and story are nice, though (again, same goes to P2). If one can overlook the clunky gameplay, then the game is perfectly fine.

Sums up my feelings towards P1.
Had to use cheats to beat it because I just couldn't stand it. I tried to give the game the benefit of the doubt to more than once and with multiple hours in.

Still need to play P2. Played a little of the beginning and was definitely liking it more than P1.

The theme is interesting. I'd like to see their take on it as well, even if it is no deeper than the stress of test taking. If the Persona team showed us anything with Catherine and P4, its that they can deal with normal issues in interesting ways.

May 31 2012 - Famitsu ad teaser, official site opens with nothing but vague teaser images.

Aug 30 2012 - Soul Hackers released with a SMT4 trailer on the cart. Glimpses of characters and setting, no official details.

Sept 17 2012 - New trailer released online. Edited version of TGS trailer. Lots of gameplay footage.

Sept 20 2012 - Famitsu article blowout with details on staff, characters, demons, world setting, etc.

Oct 10 2012 - Full TGS trailer released online.

Feb 21 2013 - Famitsu announces the May 23 release date and the limited 3DS XL.

May 23 2013 - The game is released.

Going by that, I'll say that it'll be several months before we see anything, but they'll probably announce proper details for the game some time in early 2014.

But from her standpoint it was not. To me she was torn between being a woman or man because one could and the other wasn't. One was supposed the other shouldn't. I would love to believe that this particular moment was just necessary because Japan is soooo far behind in gender roles but lets not kid ourselves. We might like to boast equality but we are far from there.

But yes, perhaps not "transgender" per say but her gender identifier was all over the place. Now go out and dress/behave as the opposite sex not because you want to but because some unseen entity is forcing you to do so.

I like the details. Here is to hoping they further the improvements from P3 to P4/G. I have no issues with the high school setting. Those are usually the ages of maximal angst. Even if you are older, the memories are still there and are easy to relate to on an emotional level. I am sure Atlus won't let us down with the tone of the game. I predict that they won't stray too dark, given the success of P4.

"Dark" is a worthless term. I want something meaningful and emotionally engaging. I wouldn't say persona games are the deepest things ever, but they always make an attempt to resonate on every level. They stick to their themes, even when it gets corny. But I admire that.

I'm not expecting P5 to be some magnum opus that fully explores a full range of socially relevant topics and exposes them to their core, but I trust the team to make something that treads that line of being down to earth while still being fantastical.

i understand one taking the canon into their own head. By all means fill in the blanks, I just do not think that was even the beging of a gender identity issue. It had always been presented as a dudes got a golden, kind of thing. And I dunno if they had gender issues with a character, I kind of would not want it naoto. It would kind of be stereotypical to have her as the transgendered person. Women have shrot hair and wear pants all the time. I am sitting beside some at this moment.

I think it would have been more interesting if chie , yukiko, or rise had some type of gender identity issues.

Really hoping it's more like Persona 4. The pressure and depression of school system sounds decent enough. Better than the stupid secret society of robot scientists bullshit in P3 anyway.

Honestly, curious as to what this means in regards to the underlying narrative of Persona/Shadows, if the 'pressure' comes from the school system itself.

Unless the teachers are under shadow influence, it seems like it would be a bit odd to mesh the two sides of the high school/dungeon-crawling narrative.

Also, would be nice to have a FemC option.
