Oh my.

It's good to see some more footage, but this short 2 minute trailer with stuff reused from the last trailer really wasn't worth actively following the news for :P

People keep saying this like Atlus hasn't had quick turnarounds before.

If the script was locked early enough, there's no reason this shouldn't come out this year (unless the game itself is delayed).

The only thing concerning me is I'm not sure if Atlus Japan realizes Persona is successful in the west. Everything they've done with Persona 5 has screamed "We care about Japan first and then America can take a crack."
 
While I am a little disappointed there isn't more footage, I actually kind of appreciate how little of the game they are showing. I'm the type of person who wishes they could go on a media blackout, but lacks the self control to do so. :D

I'd say that's on you for overhyping it then, they were never going to show off anything mindblowing in a trailer they added into a spin-off dancing game, they'd make a big deal out of it if they were.

I think the laughing at worldwide isn't incredulity at it being in America. That's believable. But 'Worldwide' happens to include another continent or two, yo. For many of us, SMT4 was the opposite of a quick turn around.

US? sure. I was mostly talking about Europe. Quick turnarounds are the exception here and Atlus US cares as much about Europe as Atlus Japan cares about the US.
 
Pretty good. Of course some of the gameplay shots were re-used which is disappointing and it would be hard to match the reveal trailer, but that still got me hyped.

As for no date and the secrecy --- Atlus always seems to operate like this even though it's frustrating and probably doesn't help them in the west -- but since this is their way I would expect to see and hear a lot more now that P4:DAN is out there. Basically, no reason to worry, yet.

It's not on me because I didn't watch it for two days :) I'm talking about other people. I followed it a bit the first night then ignored it till it was up

Also they showed 14+ minute trailers for Persona 3 and 4 included in Famitsu mags before, so the bolded isn't really true.

That said, I expected something longer than 2 minutes and with less reused footage. This seems more like a basic teaser Atlus would just randomly put up. lol at "confidential".

Agreed. I'm not worried for myself, I'm importing from Japan, but I want Persona to gain traction in Europe too and delayed releases + nonexistent marketing doesn't really help.

Yes, many would reply to this "But Atlus doesn't have an European branch" but I think they should have, or at least have Sega Europe involved.

Definitely looks worse but its obviously a bigger game on an engine that's probably worse than gamebryo.

I was so hoping that the SEGA acquisition would change things. I don't understand why they're not publishing their stuff in Europe.
 
for people in europe, why not just make a usa account and buy the game? psn cards are not uphiked that much.(unless you get japanese psn cards, then you need to find the right sites to buy them (not play-asia)

I'm glad someone else sees this. Tired of hearing that as if in this day and age it's OK to just ignore a whole continent. They need to fix this, like, eight years ago.

Shouldn't have to, is the thing. It's the principle of it. Shouldn't need to act like some kind of rare treasure importer just to play a videogame.

Glad I didn't waste hours watching streams and constantly refreshing the other P5 thread waiting for it to drop though.

I don't buy "big" new games digitally. But people in Europe who want the game already have ways of getting it, don't worry. It's more that super delayed releases don't help the game's popularity and sales here, so it's vicious cycle that I'd like to see broken some day.

This also doesn't work at all on region locked systems (thanks Nintendo)

I know you shouldnt have to, would it be wrong if atlus did release it on time over in europe, but only make it english subbed (meaning all other languages get fucked/SOL). Thinking thats part of the problem, if atlus translates into multiple languages. Worse if they dub them too.(which I also assume is a thing they have to deal with, only person here with that kind of know-how is FEEP ... i dont know much between contracts with Voice actors, but i know they can stop a game from being re-released amongst other things)
 
Ryuji looked stunning in most of it even if he was experience pain and trauma in that one moment.

Think the battles look really great, just hope the theme is as catchy as time to make history, and mass destruction.

Also lotus juice x igor song please.

Definitely on track to be better than p4, but Im not feeling like it will beat out p3 for me.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but Atlus games are usually not translated into European languages (other than English). We basically get the same game only months later.

They wanted to save that game for bombing after the LoveLiveVSDingo debacle. And Sega, being Sega, probably would not give that many marketing money (they need to fund the next Sonic Boom game).

Weren't the gaps between releases getting shorter, though? I mean granted you can't do any worse than what happened with Arena, but....

Can't wait to see the dungeon traversal, what the locations around town are like and of course the demons!
