AFAIK all the scenes showing the city are using the game engine. The cgs are for the tunnel and other stuff at the beginning.golem said:old+cg![]()
Look again, there is motion blur on the trees in the big picture too. I would not be surprised at all if the final game had a very convincing motion blur effect (more "real looking" that Burnout's at least)thorns said:There's also motion blur applied, which means it's been post processed (like everything sony has shown also, yes even heavenly sword had motion blur). But 60fps can somewhat compensate for lack of motion blur in the final picture.

Well. The whole thing is definitely rendered, but what we're discussing is if it's rendered with in-game assets, such as the background geometry and whatnot. It's obviously hand-animated though, the car movements are a dead giveaway.dorio said:What part is realtime and what part is prerendered because all of it looked incredible.
If the whole thing is prerendered then why does Allard say differently.Hyoushi said:Well. No Killzone 2 = Microsofts Robot Demo 1PGR3=Microsofts Killzone 2

Shane: Yes, it's a huge difference. Things that you saw, and I'll use another first-party title as an example, Project Gotham Racing 3, I think that gives you an indication of a visual bar that we're aspiring to. I mean, we wouldn't have shown that if we didn't believe that was absolutely reachable.
That quote still doesn't confirmed that it was all prerendered.SolidSnakex said:http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/619/619046p2.html?fromint=1
sonycowboy brought it up in another thread but people kind of shrugged it off by saying you didn't have conflicting reports on it being rendered...Apparently you do if Allard is saying otherwise.
KyotoMecca said:Old. And not 60fps like in kikizo's versions. I am pretty convinced this particular sequence is realtime.
sp0rsk said:well, itd be the first and only 60fps UE3 game running on xbox360 hardware
i find that a little hard to believe. mind you it will probably end up looking like this, but i doubt that this is a direct capture from an xbox360 game running on actual hardware.

It uses their own engine. I beleive Gears of War and Frame City Killers are the only games that have been shown that use UE3.sp0rsk said:okay maybe 70% sure.
Visual bars can also mean a combination of real-time and prerendered similar to Heavanly Sword. He doesn't say that it was all rendered. I really don't see any real-time elements in the video though because no game on the 360 outside of Kameo and GR3 has had a frame rate that steady.SolidSnakex said:That seems to be a pretty good indication that it is, don't you think? If any of it was real time wouldn't he have pointed it out instead of just saying that the video was the visual bar they were aiming for with the game?
Doom_Bringer said:IGN has a realtime video of PGR3, it looks NOTHING like that CG video.

Shogmaster said:Frame City Killers don't use UE3. It uses an older Unreal Engine (probably the free 2.1 version that comes with all current XBox dev kits :lol ).

This video was created using actual in-game models and assets from PGR3, and not ones specifically made for the video. So the level of detail you see here will be not only matched, but surpassed in the game itself, as the models are getting more and more detailed as development goes on
