Phantasy Star Universe E3 Trailer (character-creation)

Shaping up nicely! Far more gameplay than CG in this one, and shows some new areas and enemies - including some very PSO looking bits. Looks like you have the option to do Zelda style Z-targetting now (target seems to spin while doing this), allowing you to walk around enemies and back away without turning round. Also shows a sort of first-person targetting system near the end of the trailer. Still no guns/throwing weapons shown yet though. Or androids, but as one of the NPC seems to be one I'm sure they'll be in there.

Character-creation does look much more extensive than PSO, changing the size and colour of eyes etc.

Considering how much the PSO games improved as they got closer to launch, impressed how good this is looking for a title that is still 6+ months away.

Sega's new slogan should be "Well atleast we have PSU"

:)

Confirmation of how online connects to the offline game:

The single player adventure, in terms of timeline, is the first part of the Phantasy Star Universe adventure. The online takes place cronologically after the single player experience. So, single player you are playing as a preset avatar. Online, you create you own avatar and everyone in this world knows Evan Weaver (spl) now as this legendary hero. So you have that background, you have that history. But all the events in the online mode play out after the single player has ended.

Quite like this idea. So online is basically the sequel to offline, and the more you play offline the more of the backstory you get to know.
