Phoenix Revolution PS2 controller - (physically) customizable

Does it invert the left or right or both sticks? Can you put both sticks on one side?

It inverts only the right, no matter where it is. Yes both sticks can be on one side.

They must have read a forum post I made years ago. I did speculate that the GCN controller might be customizable with parts that slot in.

This thing does in fact work with the XBOX. Quite well in fact. Just not w/ the Magic Box adapter.

I have an Innovation PS2 pad adapter and it works perfectly.

Makes driving games (Outrun 2 and GT3 specifically) a lot tighter (pun, oops) in regards to steering.

I've got an EB gift card that I had no idea what I was going to use it on... guess I'll swing by EB on the way home today.....

This looks really cool, however even after all the praise I'm still skeptical. I have yet to experience a [non-joystick] third party controller that I didn't think was a steaming pile of crap (or at least had SOMETHING wrong with it that annoyed the living hell out of me). I'd still like to try it if I ever pick up an Xbox adaptor-- there are some games I'd like to fiddle with the pad config on.

So, is the Phoenix Rev >> DS2 in every single way possible?

I think so. It's larger in size. That would be my only knock. That and the shoulder buttons don't seem 'springy' like the ones on the DS2 when you push down hard enough. But the d-pad is far superior, and the thing works exactly as advertised.

As cool as this controller looks, I gotta have wireless. It's an unfortunate byproduct of how my living room is set up :(. I hope they eventually come out with a wireless one.
