Kiriku said:"Value: 8"? Could someone explain/defend this? I thought the game would be pretty much pointless when you've solved all the cases? Are there a lot of cases to solve then?

Blackace said:What happened to playing a good game? hahah I don't want to have to replay a game to enjoy it.. it is 15 to 25 hours long depending on how easy you put together stuff..

Kiriku said:Value is still Value though. I was curious about how the reviewer could possibly come to the conclusion that the game deserved "8" in value if it's short and has no replayability (?) whatsoever. Now I know it's not a short game at least.![]()
Blackace said:What makes value?
For the most part, a game's value score is an indicator of the game's longevity. It represents how long you'll be able to both play and enjoy the game, and it also signifies how much replay value you'll get out of it. Breadth of gameplay options and overall volume of content both weigh heavily into this score. The retail price of a game can also figure into the value score, as can the presence or lack of similar, competitive products in the market. Finally, the overall quality of the game has some impact on its value, so, for instance, a bad game that's extremely long is still probably not worth playing.
Kiriku said:Since I was discussing the gamespot score, what could be more fitting than Gamespot's explanation of "value"?![]()
Blackace said:なるほど
well then it should be around 7.5 or 8...
Kiriku said:What's with the question marks? I thought I was being perfectly clear about my concerns, namely the value score in the gamespot review. And as you and others stated after my initial question, the game is very long...much longer than I imagined it to be. So I already have an answer to my question. No need for any of us to push it any further. Unless we're to turn it into a question about "what makes value", but I think that would be better suited for a separate thread.![]()
Blackace said:Sorry.. I said indeed in Japanese which is Naruhodo.. which is the name of Mr. Wright in the Japanese version![]()

This is all that needs to be said about the value of this game.
If that's not reason enough to get it, I don't know what is.
