Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS) - Gamespot review

I want a columbo game with the same mechanics only no courtroom. You have to try and catch suspects out by turning to leave then saying "ONE more thing.."

And then a Macgyver game where you have to make amazing contraptions out of a stick of gum, a straw and a paper clip.

I demand 80's nostalgia gameplay!

"Value: 8"? Could someone explain/defend this? I thought the game would be pretty much pointless when you've solved all the cases? Are there a lot of cases to solve then?

What happened to playing a good game? hahah I don't want to have to replay a game to enjoy it.. it is 15 to 25 hours long depending on how easy you put together stuff..

I really wish someone would just go ahead and explain the joke.

I Haven't Read the Constitution Recently, but from What I Gather in This Thread, I Imagine it's Similar to the Joke.

Also, Buy Phoenix Wright! We Need More Games Like it!

Value is still Value though. I don't want to replay a game to enjoy it either, but it's nice if it's possible to enjoy a game even after the main/story mode is finished. :)
Anyway, I was curious about how the reviewer could possibly come to the conclusion that the game deserved "8" in value if it's short and has no replayability (?) whatsoever. Now I know it's not a short game at least. ;)

What makes value? in my mind around 20 hours of a game I can't put down because of its story... makes it a high value..

Since I was discussing the gamespot score, what could be more fitting than Gamespot's explanation of "value"? :P

For the most part, a game's value score is an indicator of the game's longevity. It represents how long you'll be able to both play and enjoy the game, and it also signifies how much replay value you'll get out of it. Breadth of gameplay options and overall volume of content both weigh heavily into this score. The retail price of a game can also figure into the value score, as can the presence or lack of similar, competitive products in the market. Finally, the overall quality of the game has some impact on its value, so, for instance, a bad game that's extremely long is still probably not worth playing.

What's with the question marks? I thought I was being perfectly clear about my concerns, namely the value score in the gamespot review. And as you and others stated after my initial question, the game is very long...much longer than I imagined it to be. So I already have an answer to my question. No need for any of us to push it any further. Unless we're to turn it into a question about "what makes value", but I think that would be better suited for a separate thread. :P

Listen, guys.

This is all that needs to be said about the value of this game.

If that's not reason enough to get it, I don't know what is.

Why is there a 700k naked girl as Zeo's avatar? That's breaking the terms of service on multiple levels and I have to go to work soon...

Zeo--what the hell is with that avatar? NSFW.

Lol, thats ownage. Least its not some 50 yr old fat chick.

Anyways, there been a EU release date mentioned for this? If not ill import no biggie (would be cheaper anyways).

Of all the games announced for DS, this one had 6.0 written ALL over it.

I beg to differ:

Phoenix Wright always looked great, imo.

speaking of 6.0 games....how is zoo tycoon? that's a port I basically wouldn't consider on any other platform.

75% at gamerankings, though that's just Nintendo Power. Who knows where it will go from there...

Probably safe to skip it unless you love that kinda game...

Decided to pick this up tomorow :)

Adventure Gamers, it is your Duty to buy this tomorow!

I totally want to pick it up, but I will wait until after Christmas...hopefully it's still around by then.
OBJECTION! The court rules that you shall pick this up as soon as possible, within reason.

Overruled! Barring a further sale from the $29.99 purchase price on Amazon.ca, I don't have the money after purchasing my DS last week.
