Picking up a DS, where do I find Phoenix Wright?

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. I may not be a bias as some of you peg me out to be. ;) I've decided I want to play Mario Kart online and I REALLY want to play Castlevania so I'm finally going to pick one up tonight. I also want to get Phoenix Wright, but I haven't seen it in any stores. Nor does EBGames or Gamestop have the game in stock. Is there any place I can find this game or am I going to have to overpay on Ebay?
 
Capcom discontinued the game after the low sales (according to EBGames). Keep looking around these stores or check ebay. You can probably still find a copy, they are just getting increasingly rare.

They did this with Suikoden 3 also but brought it back once demand increased.
 
I found a copy sitting on the shelf at my local EB. It was hidden behind some other stuff. Low sales? When did the game come out?

Is it really discontinued? Phew, I'm glad I got a review copy then. This game is one of this year's best.
 
I get to own you at Mario Kart too, MrBoob? You should get Animal Crossing so I can rape and pillage your town. I'll be picking it up sometime this week!

I got Phoenix Wright for xmas. I was looking all over town for a copy. Finally got a copy off gamestop.com (I believe) before they soldout. Was suprised this was getting kind of rare.
 
I looked for it at my Gamestop when it first came out and couldn't find it, but it was there a few weeks later so I picked it up there. No idea how that happened unless they either got a delayed shipment or a used copy in new wrapping.

It came out on October 12 and it sold ~10000 during that first (week? month? I don't remember exactly).

I don't know if the discontinued thing has been confirmed by Capcom, but EB stores have it listed that way in their database.
 
I'll have to order Phoenix Wright online. Couldn't find it in any store. Castlevania was hard to find too. I went to four stores and finally found one copy at the last store. Grabbed the Mario Kart DS bundle too. The red actually doesn't look too bad. I think DS and PSP both had a very good Christmas. Every store I went too had a ton of depleted stock for both hardware pieces.

You really don't understand how big an upgrade Dawn of Sorrow is until you play Aria of Sorrow. I played them both back to back to check out the two and Dawn of Sorrow is a huge upgrade over Aria of Sorrow. I thought you received some sort of bonus when starting Dawn of Sorrow with Aria of Sorrow GBA cartridge?
 
Check your local Blockbuster GameRush store. That's the only place I've been able to find it (I bought it earlier tonight myself).
 
That's where I found mine, gamerush at blockbuster. Worth every penny.

If you don't have a gamerush you should check online. Gamestop.com, ebgames.com, amazon.com
 
It's getting harder and harder to find, but Best Buy stocked the game and I've seen reports online of people looking all over their city and not finding it, till they look at BB. It might be your best bet.
 
What do you mean "overpay on Ebay"? It looks pretty reasonable to me. Outpost.com has it, but it won't save you anything over Ebay.
 
There's a complete used copy at my local Gamerush available (should be $23 after tax) I was going to suggest the online Capcom store, as there is where I ordered mine (with all the wonderful swag!) but alas, its not in stock there. Let me know if you want me to pick the game up for you...
 
Wow, just did a check on the sites. Backorders and outrageous prices.. I guess the game is now officially RARE now. Damn limited distribution!
 
Saw it today at an EBGames when I was exchanging a game.

I was amazed, they had EVERY DS game. Every single one. Snood 2. Nanostry. Trauma Center. Phoenix. Freaking Elf Bowling. Whac-a-Mole. Pac Man World 3....which I didnt even know was out.

The only other store Ive seen with every DS game is Virgin Megastore.
 
My local Sofmap have a few copies available, both new and 2nd hand, one of them is the LTD Edition... no idea what extras reside inside the big box, but I sure am tempted. Sadly, I can't help you as this is Japan!

The Japanese version is in full English and Japan Post is a very efficient service, so yes, you could actually help him :P Not that there's any reason to. It's easily available from Play Asia and ebay for $30.

Month. An dinterestingly enough, Megaman Battle Network 5 DS didn't do too much better in its first month, only about 1000 more, but it had from the first of its month (rather than the 12th) so they're both selling as well as each other. Could this be hope for PW in that it sold as well as a Megaman game, or the end of Megaman in that it sold as bad as PW?

Well, in Japan both did rather decent, 70k for RockmanEXE5 and 90k for Gyakuten Saiban iirc. Not bad for GBA ports really.
 
megaman didn't need to sell though.. it was just a rerelease of the same game for the GBA just both versions combined.

I looked araound at my local GStops and EBs and couldn't find a single copy. those were the only places I ever saw it.. never at BBuy or CCity.

I find this really hard to believe. This is about the worst-distributed game by a big publisher I've seen -- they must not have expected it to sell. I think it's more likely that they only ever intended to do a limited run in the first place and see how it did.

That said, the local GameRushes do have it.

The ebgames I work for might still have a couple in stock. I should pick them both up and ebay them....
 
I bought it at EB Games last night. :) Make sure you ask a clerk to check the back room, they didn't have any display copy.
 
I swear this game was EVERYWHERE Christmas week. I've been waiting for a pricedrop on the game ever since it came out, and it didn't happen.

Then I saw this thread and immediately felt compelled to buy it. No copies on Ebay except one auction from HK... Then I checked the stores around me. Went to seven stores and called an 8th. Talk about overnight disappearance.
 
I got mine used at EB for only 15 bucks (when add that it was used and my employee discount) :D Too bad I can't play it till my mom gets over her Animal Crossing addiction.
 
Yeah I'm going to be forced to buy it on ebay as well.

Oh and Blue Shell = worst weapon in Mario Kart game ever

I got hit with hit five times in my last race on my last lap. Ugh.

You can't forget Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo on the PSOne. That suffered a similar fate.
