I got chills, that's good enough for me

Just try to stray away from the obvious trolling you're pushing.
Boogie9IGN said:Uhm, sorry to ask this here but I can't find any other Live 8 thread on the front page.
Anyone have a torrent of the video of Elton John's performance?
CrunchyB said:I'm not trolling, but I am being harassed. It's not trolling to disagree with someone, I can't help it I get replies like:
"I suggest suicide"
"shut up"
"I don't know shit"
I didn't even say reall bad things about PF. I could, you know, but I won't because I like them.
Agree. The '73 tours were still quite good musically, but '75 and forward are all either crap (most of '77) or overdetermined/overproduced ('80-'81) or overproduced and crap ('87). I like listening to 'em, but they're crap. Fancy lights don't really make a great live show, much as I love the Floyd.CrunchyB said:No, they introduced tons of props. Inflatable pigs, brick walls and lightshows.
Augh. The Rolling Stones suck live, I've never found the Jagger strut convincing in the least. The Who, on the other hand, have been blowing headliners off the stage since 1965 (including the Stones at their own Rock'n'Roll Circus). I haven't yet seen their set, but without Entwhistle and Moon, I don't really feel as excited. Entwhistle was in many ways the core of the band.Very cool, but they're not the Rolling Stones or The Who.
Shinobi said:The classic rock station in Toronto has been playing some of the Live 8 songs, including the entire set from Pink Floyd. Listening to them again at work, the guitar solo in Comfortably Numb gave my blood chills several times. And I'm not a Floyd fan by any means, though I would like to grab a few of their albums. But I think the enormority of the reunion (considering how impossible it was said to be), and with that song being so damned good anyway, and hearing it being played so well in front of 200,000 on a late summer night in London...it's easy to imagine how it must've felt for the Floyd diehards. And it sure seemed like Gilmore was getting close to tearing up. That pic at the end was just cool as hell.
Having said that, AC/DC blew the Stones off their own stage here a couple years ago (I've probably said this a half dozen times the last few days by now :lol), which doesn't take away from the Stones as a good live act...but AC/DC's energy at a show is just incredible. Not sure there's a better live rock act in the world at the present time.

Yeah, they officially filmed it on cinema stock, but thought they looked too dark. I'm sure it can be remastered and look pretty decent. I expected it last year for the 25th anniversary.Ford Prefect said:In a radio interview earlier this year Roger (whilst on the subject of The Wall and it's future broadway adaptation) hinted towards a DVD release of an entire, original Wall show.
Yeah, I used to say that too, when I was spending hours every day archiving, designing cases for, and remastering my 100+ RoIO collection. Eventually, though, I realized how rough the post-DSotM performances up to the Wall years were. The Wall was great, but they had, what, nine musicians? PF1987Ltd just aren't Pink Floyd any more than Roger's touring band from '99-'02 was.To whoever argued against Pink Floyd's live performances: Pink Floyd is one of the greatest live bands ever in existence.

:lol :lol :lolMany of MTV's viewers weren't even alive when Pink Floyd broke up, so Toffler said he was surprised at how many wanted to see the band's reunion performance in full.
As the complaints flooded in, Toffler said he contacted Live 8 organizers on Wednesday to see if some of the performances could be rerun.
