UDON Entertainment said:Featuring over 2 million members, PIXIV is Japan’s ultimate online art community. The web site allows creators to show off their work, share feedback, collaborate on projects and grow into even better artists. Finally, PIXIV ALMANAC, the popular series of artbooks showcasing these talents will make its way to North America this spring, courtesy of UDON.
PIXIV ALMANAC collects the artwork of nearly 200 artists from Japan, Korea, and around the world, some of the PIXIV community’s most talented members! It showcases a wide variety of artistic styles, from colourful manga and anime-influenced illustrations to cutting-edge CG and digital painting, a beautiful collection for art fans and tremendously inspiring for fellow-artists! In addition, each page offers links to further work and personal websites, and many even include a personal message from the creators! It’s a peak inside the world’s largest online gathering of artists!
BONUS: PIXIV ALMANAC is the first English-language book to feature several massively popular Japanese properties!
HATSUNE MIKU: “Born” in 2007, Hatsune Miku is a Japanese virtual idol—a computer generated singing sensation who has sold out shows on both sides of the Pacific. Created by Crypton Future Media as the ‘face’ of their synthesizer software, Miku’s popularity continues a meteoric rise around the world! PIXIV ALMANAC is the first English-language book to feature Hatsune Miku, and the book features a selection of the over 200,000 Miku drawings posted to PIXIV, as well as a double page feature entitled “Miku Append” introducing the character, software, and goods!
BLACK★ROCK SHOOTER: A character created by artist “Huke” and posted to the PIXIV website, Black Rock Shooter’s stunning character design and original art inspired music, thousands of illustrations, an OVA, TV anime series, video games, manga, and more! The dystopian science-fiction heroine has become a symbol of the power and promise of PIXIV worldwide, and the character appears in dozens of illustrations and a special two-page appendix in PIXIV ALMANAC!
Featuring nearly 200 different artists and nearly a thousand pieces of original artwork, PIXIV ALMANAC is a must-own artbook for anime, manga, Japanese culture, and art fans around the world!

eh, it's strange that I've missed this thread somehow... considering how much of a Pixiv whore that I am. I have about 600 artists in watch, and have been steadily uploading my own nsfw sketches and doodles. I should probably come and contribute to this thread later, but man, it's gonna take some time diggin through them bookmarks and user lists...

Figured a post in this thread would be most appropriate.
UDON Entertainment has formally announced the release of the first English-language Pixiv artbook, PIXIV ALMANAC. Looks like it's based on the annual "Pixiv Official Book" collections that are released in Japan, I'd wager.

There's a nice gallery of some sample pages from the book on UDON's site as well.
I don't touch the r18 stuff, I just have never bookmarked anything. If I like something that much I save it into my well categorized folder of artists and their work. One day, I'll save it all!Curse you guys hiding behind your r18 lewd tastes (╯︵╰,)

I have this as my desktop background. Very beautiful.
Haly is a well known weabooI fucking adore art like this. The harmony with nature setting is very Japanese and one of the things I find missing in some Western art.
That said, what's up with the subtle hostility toward Western art in the OP?

Some of these pictures are so beautiful and nearly flawless, but would be perfect if they just took out the school girls.
I don't think Pixiv needs even more boring landscape art.
I love shit like this: http://i.imgur.com/b9TGu.jpg
Reminds me a lot of Akira or Battle Angel. I love that simple, yet detailed look that a lot of old school manga did. There's no excessive shading or texture, but intricate details abound in this vast, thought out sci-fi city or tech.
Is there anything to read like that out now?
Ah. A shame.

You have to have an account to do it, but it's the little thing under their icons that has the green circle with a white + in it. It will prompt you on whether or not you want your bookmarking of that artist to be public or private, and that will do it.How do you bookmark artists?
