which game, pno3 or kar ;) i actually enjoyed both of them very much as well. but i know i intend to buy this game as soon as i can do so, and thats all that really matters to me. if some other people buy it and like it, thats cool too. i'll buy it for the art style alone even if the gameplay turns out boring.
 
this has always been a game that people love or hate and it will continue to be. Killer 7 will split the world into two types of people.
 
It looked "interesting" 3 years ago. Looks pretty assy nowadays. It seems to be some sort of light gun shooter as well.

This will be a critical and financial bomb, IMO. The way Capcom treats this game is akin to the way film studios treat shitty films. Very little information is released about them and they get pushed until god knows when. :P
 
Its really amazing how there's so much bitching about too many sequels and not enough innnovation in videogames lately, and then something truly unique like this comes along, and all I hear is more bitching. I for one am quite excited about this very original looking game. Damn, I can't belive anyone is willing to write this game off after seeing the latest trailers. Damn I'm sick of all the yahoos saying this game is going to suck. Why not wait until you play it, and then decide. OMG. Damn.

um... it's a game in which i expect the story line to twist and turn, surely over exposing the game would give a lot of this away?
 
I think its going to turn out to be a compelling game, even if the gameplay is a little on the light side.

The style/storyline/dynamic ... I don't think there's ever been a video game this *crazy* or twistedly violent before.

Plus Mikami is on a roll with Resident Evil 4 and they've taken their time with this game (unlike P.N. 03 which seemed rushed). Sales wise I doubt it'll sell that much, but I think it'll become a cult classic. I think Killer 7 will be one of the most interesting games of the year.

Sort of like Katamari Damacy was last year, except even weirder and not as colorful.

Although Capcom's Killer 7 only recently received a firm release date of 24 March, the date has now been withdrawn. The game will still be released for PS2 and GameCube, but the date is now unknown.

It wouldn't be hard to make a 3-min clip of something from the beginning of the game that just shows the game being played. Of course, then it would confirm the game is a dating simulator with trippy sound and a shooting gallery.

As for the "well they took their time so it'll be polished" or whatever, if it is a basic adventure game it should not take this long to develop, nor should it look so poor (they failed to correctly mimic Interstate 76). Definately not longer than RE4.
 
I bet it'll turn out to be a great game. It's sad, but these days it simply isn't enough for a game to be good in order for it to sell well.

Yeah, it'll bomb. C'mon, Cube owners! Buy more 3rd party games, goddammit!
 
Nucular bomb. I agree with what drohne said. It's definitely looking worse and worse. Today's (or whatever) batch of screens were just awful. The stylish has been completely wiped out and we're left with mask-wrestlers in celshading. Fuck it.

At some point they started co-developing the game with PS2. It was GC exclusive for the first year or so.
 
By looking at the recent screens it's easy to dismiss K7 as a game doomed to fail critically and sales wise, but I take into account the amount of time it has been in development and Capcom's recent track record. I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt.

I agree. PN03 has aspects which tend to find favor with shooter fans it seems (I've likened it to a 3rd-person variant of Zero Gunner 2 in the past).

Killer 7 looks to be more of a firecracker than a bomb, most of the gaming world probably won't notice one way or the other when it goes off. Though being adventurous, I'm sure I'll sample it myself, like the Crimson Tears (an example of a "firecracker") I just picked up cheap.

Most of the responses seem to be talking about it in general, both in terms of how they see the likely critical reception and also sales.
 
Certainly looks to be the prettiest looking game come this year ... I'm always up for illustrative abstract visuals.

So file my say under "aquired taste" both for gameplay and art direction.

anyway I bet it is going to be bad but I actually desperately hoping it's not. I'm hoping for something like Snatcher, but with some FPS i guess.
