Play & Charge Kit: still using wireless?

Got a wireless controller hooked up via the play & charge kit. But I notice a slight delay now and then with button presses and on screen response. And the analog stick in Halo 2 seemed kind of choppy.

is it only drawing power from the USB cable and still projecting a wireless signal to carry across the controls?

It says on the package somewhere that the wireless controller still uses wireless even if plugged into play and charge. It sucks, but that is why my primary controller is wired. Wired = better.

First off, you are delusional, there is no delay. I am sure of the xbots can post a teamxbox review proving you are a liar.
Secondly, you are complaing about controls in an emulated game?

Why must you spread false facts against the xbox 360?

U R Crazy. I will never buy a wired controller again.

I noticed a delay when playing Geometry Wars. Then again, it could have been the shitty HDTV.

This is a possiblity, a crappy scaler can cause a bit of lag.

I don't understand why people even bother with the play n charge kit. Total ripoff....

Allz ya need is the setup I use. Get high quality rechargeable AA batteries (Energizer 2500 NiMH are what I use, same ones as for my Digital camera) and the 15 minute recharge kit. Voila!!! 15 minutes you're batteries are fully charged and away you go. They only lose like 1% charge a day if you don't use em, and hell 15 minutes is nothing.... go make/eat a sandwich and you're good to go.

Wireless = Winner

Wired.... might as well go back to 56k modems! :lol

How bad is the X360 battery life if you actually need a play and charge kit. The waverbird lasts me like half a year without changing batteries.

If I'm playing online all I have to do with the P&C kit is plug it into the system and I'm good to go. I don't have to worry about having another set of batteries charged. I also don't have to sit there and swap the new ones in while I'm trying to play... Nor do I have to go and make a sandwich when I've already ate.

Well you shouldn't even be worrying at all, cause the controller indicates WELL in advance when you're batteries are starting to die. You know...the whole spinning lights deal on the controller. That usually signals about 2+ hours left in your batteries. Now I know you can't be that damn lazy to take over 2 hours to swap a set out in the whole <1minute it takes to do it.

The Play n Charge kit is a rip off, plain and simple.

The wavebird didn't have built in rumble.

I've tested the wireless vs. the wired at several distances in several different ways. There is no delay.

Actually, ideally the wireless should be a hair faster, because em waves will propagate about 50% faster through air than an electric signal will through a wire.

Radio interference says 'Hi!'

I had my wavebird stop responding on occasion, when I was using AirTunes, and there were like, 7 other wireless networks in my apartment block. Now we're out in the 'burbs, things are a lot better on that front. Although my commute sucks ass.

I use rechargeable batteries, no having to plug them in, just switch for a fresh set :D

Live in the hood. Its like an interference free wonderland. Oh and rechargeable AA's for the win. I've always got a set or two in waiting.

Well that's interesting....

Does anyone else notice no difference between wireless and wired 360 controllers?

The left dpad button seems a little stiff on my controller. Perhaps I just need to break it in.

I love my play n charge kits, best invention ever. They are plugged into my laptops and every night I'm done playing I just connect the controllers up to the play n charge so that it charges overnight. I don't think I've ever charged up through the Xbox, that's just so cool.

I don't have a delay with my controllers. I play everything from Halo 2 to Geo Wars 2 without a problem
