Holy shit, to think I might get to beta test The Last of Us ReRemaster

You will get to beta test Fairgame$ and you will like it.

The concept of beta testing made sense back in the day, but now regardless if a game as an early access or beta program before launch, the games still launch with bugs and issues.
We need that Nintendo seal of approval

Never understood the appeal of being a free betatester, especially for some big company.
I've done it before directly and through a 3rd party agency. Apart from getting access to stuff early or just having your say in steering the way things might turn out, it's the swag (and lots of it, lol).

In retrospect, I don't feel that Nintendo's Seal of Quality really meant much.

Made a crappy phPBB forum once ... once.
I think anyone who applied got the congratulations you're in email?

I note it says in the email they sent that 'We look forward to your potential participation and appreciate your understanding' in the Ts & C's

So might still get the thanks but no thanks bollocks off them as I don't play Fortnite or COD on a hourly basis or fit their age bracket despite claiming they don't have one.

I remember back in the PS2 days they sent you the ethernet adaptor, headset and a copy of SOCOM when you joined the beta programme.

Was in the PS2 one for quite a while.

It never did, it wasn’t about the quality of the games people just assumed that. It was about the fact it conformed to the standards Nintendo set out so it wouldnt fuck up your system. Nowadays it was replaced by the officially licensed mark on 3rd party peripherals & stuff usually made by hori. Not really used on games anymore.
