Who? Receipts!!!

Schreier was asked about it on Twitter

Shinobi tweeting and talking about it so blatantly seals the deal anyway

Besides: y'all have to STOP being in sheer disbelief that a game that probably sits somewhere around 8m-10+m sold units gets a sequel, lmao

I dont think anyone is surprised it is getting a sequel. It is about it being announced this early. I wasnt even expecting it to be announced at E3 2017 tbh and now somehow it is getting announced tomorrow?!

We all know it's coming. It's a matter of when.

Schreier also thought the Batman game was gonna get announced last night but that didn't show up.

Might be at PSX? Dunno

Besides, he's not the only one who reacted when being asked about TLOU2

And again: if Shinobi hints at it, it is probably happening

Why? TLOU was announced the same year Uncharted 3 came out

Man I just can't get hyped about anything Naughty Dog these days and they used to be my favorite developers. Not interested in Uncharted 4 DLC as I haven't even completed that, and I even overhyped The Last of Us when I played the review copy before release. I can't get hyped for it unless they show something cool that isn't just more of the same.
Well then simply play and enjoy a different IP from a different developer. Naughty Dog fans get Naughty Dog stuff. You get new/different stuff. Problem solved.

If/when TLoU sequel comes I hope they mange to evolve the moment to moment gameplay mechanics. They can refine and add new mechanics or make the game more governed by realtime physics or something. I just hope they do something meaningful with the game part and not just the storytelling.

We're almost there.

Of course I'm not surprised that a commercial and critical success like The Last of Us is getting a sequel. I'm just very excited to see it since the original is one of my favorite games.

True, but after Amy and Justin left many assumed that the 2 project at a time structure had been sidelined to help get UC4 out of the door. The implication here is that the game is further along than most of us suspected.

Yea he fully disclosed tho. He heard it was getting announced in early December. He admits tho he probably shouldn't have said anything since it was single sourced

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy The Uncharted/Last of Us games, but they do really need to shake up their formula.

Great GAF is going to crash tomorrow isn't it!

You fu(kers better not crash the site!

I'll be out Christmas shopping with my wife and this will be my only source of info....

Don't you guys dare cause a 502 error on me!

The panels start at like 1pm eastern, but I didn't see any info on the actual live stream for the opener?

Are they doing it like they did last year with an hour or so of reveals?

TLOU shook up the ND formula didn't it? It's pretty different from Uncharted.

And whatever comes after TLOU2 will probably be vastly different as well.

Don't get me wrong, I want them to change things up too, but I'll be happy with TLOU2 for now.

The Last of Us doesn't really play like Uncharted in the first place. It has a weightier style of gameplay, more centered around melee, resource management, stealth and traps.

Uncharted is zippier, more about shooting and platforming and more vertical in its design as a result.

TLoU only had one game so far, so I don't think they need to shake up their formula all that much.

Amy was leading U3 while Neil and Bruce where working in TLOU back in 2011. Given that the TLOU directors where shifted to work on U4 for the last 2 years, it makes sense for Sony to shelf/slow down the game dev for a bit until they finished.

Either they got a new leadership for Tlou2 which I doubt, or Neil and Bruce had a incredibly busy time in the last two years juggling two games.

Surprised at the excitement around TLOU. I mean, we all know it's in development. If it's not revealed tomorrow then it'll be E3. But I wouldn't expect much more than a CG heavy teaser tomorrow if it is revealed.
It is TLoU2 and The Last of Us is one of my favorite games of all time. I know it is eventually coming and I know it will probably be a CG tease. Hype will still burst out of me regardless.

* A familiar guitar music starts

* A lake is shown

* Screen turns to black: Sony Interactive Entertainment Presents

* Back to the lake we see a silhoutte of a woman by its margin

* Screen turns to black: A Naughty Dog game

* Back to the lake, we see the woman splash into the water, she goes deep in the water and comes out to the surface again

* We see her back and slowly the camera moves to show her face: Adult Ellie is shown, gorgeous, with an awesome long red hair, and still with those TLOU-prologue pittyful eyes

* THE LAST OF US 2

Can I get a job at Naughty Dog now?

I'm so flacid at the prospect of a Last of Us 2. I dunno, if there was one game that felt like it didn't need a sequel, it's The Last of Us. I wonder how much pressure Sony applied on Bruce and Neil to make it happen.

Or you can stay home and watch

Hmm, "Sorry honey, we're not going Christmas shopping until later tonight; we're staying home and watching the Sony Playstation conference...."

hmm, let me think about this one for a sec..... HEEELLLLLS NO! I value my balls, my Playstation, my Vita, my TV and my life.....

Did Shi said that?

nah, those "rumors" that popped online immediately after Sony's E3 conference had ended....

I definitely believe that last 5-10 had been dedicated to RDR2 and something happened which changed things at the last minute...

TLOU2 and new IP, I'm fine with that from ND. Really interesting to see what they will do with the storyline/timeline in TLOU2.

Yep.

Ending on Days Gone was so bizarre given its reveal trailer had already aired earlier in the keynote.

The (rather weak) gameplay they showcased to close the event was probably planned for an IGN livestream or something, because the gameplay demonstrations they did stream after the conference were basically identical with few minor variations to the path the player used.

Well, it's probably still a fresh setting for them to work on and it seems like you can do a lot in that world.

Besides, fan/critics reaction was overwhelmingly positive, so that might push them even further to see what they can do with the IP

Question is if they'll include previous characters

"Alright, this Uncharted can be the last one. But in return, you've got to make a sequel to TLoU."

"Ugh."
Well, I think ND is baking a new IP too. I could see Sony giving ND a "nudge nudge wink wink" for TLoU2 but I think ND also had ideas cooking for it as well. It wouldn't be "ugh" for them.

Mind you, Sony isn't known to be the "Do what we want, NOW!" type. At least not with ND. They basically let them do what they want, to an extent.
