PlayStation Mobile Thread of Indie Games, and Apps on Android/Vita

Sprint gross. they always late on everything. Its like a sister company of sony sometimes.

In Canada, Sony stuff was pretty much Rogers exclusive, including the 3G Vita, which sucked as they only covered about 5% of my province.
Most of the HTC One series is on all three of the carriers though, so it'll be interesting to see if this is still a Rogers only thing.

EDIT: Sony US site, HTC Support "Details to be announced later on"

would love to play some of gameloft's titles with proper controls. NOVA 3 now!!!!!

I just looked it up and Nova 3 does run on the Xperia Play, which is the low end of phones that PSM supports, so hopefully it comes voer. I mean the only reason it wouldn't is because of incompetence.

Does anyone know if the PSM store is updated only once a week with PS Store? I read a comment on the PS blog that it was "separate from the PS Store".

On the EU blog I think it says it will update every Wednesday (ala the main store).

HTC mobile device owners cannot access PlayStation®Mobile for the moment. However, we are working with HTC to ensure PlayStation®Mobile launches as soon as possible. We will update you soon.

From what I've gathered googling around, it's the error that shows up on unsupported devices. Which is why it's confusing me as my One X is one of the certified devices.
Might have something to do with the carriers too.

The store download is available directly from Sony here and is currently limited to roughly two dozen Sony-branded Android tablets and phones. The HTC One V, S, and X are also on the list with the following caveat: “HTC mobile device owners cannot access PlayStation®Mobile for the moment. However, we are working with HTC to ensure PlayStation®Mobile launches as soon as possible. We will update you soon.”

This really is an "open beta".

Oh man aqua kitty looks and sounds like a 21st century amiga game! Those colors, those musics, those sharp and colorful graphics!

I bought Numblast only for now. The PS3 version was fine from what I've played but it wasn't suitable for a console, it's much more fitting on a handheld. It's pretty fun, especially the puzzle mode. They removed the annoying voices and 'intro' from the PS3/PSP versions which is fine by me.

I'm trying to figure out if I'm just terrible at games or what. Did it take anyone else about fifty tries to get the 10 crates in the levels on Super Crate Box? At least after the first level.

Super Crate Box is hardcore-hard. It's great, but it's tough.

Sony's Phone support always has been slow or they don't bother with it. especially in regards to Android OS Updates.

I suck at it completely. But it's great fun :)

Bought Beats Trellis for my Xperia Play, but can't download until I'm home.

Overall at least it's better than the stupid Verizon Xperia store, and I appreciate the fact I can share stuff with my Vita, but doubt I ever will.

Oh, for anyone thinking about gamesharing, be aware that PSM downloads are valid for up to three PSM devices at anyone time (a phone, tablet and Vita I suppose) and devices can be deactivated at any time by anyone who has the login details for the account.

If you share your games with a random they could login and deactivate your PSM devices and change the password, losing you access to your games.

Probably, but I'm sure payment processors are changing to handle micro transactions. iTunes lets you buy things for 99c and will charge that directly to your card. Sony should sort out their payment processing, or negotiate a deal with their payment processor, to allow them to do the same. It wasn't such a big deal before since most content was >$5, but it's true that with PSM, it's a nuisance.

Apple handles it through delaying the transaction. If you buy one $.99 app, they will wait a day or so to process the charge, assuming you'll buy more in the interim. They can then bundle your various charges and only get hit by the fee once. If you don't buy anything else, they go ahead and run the charge after a set amount of time, and eat the fee. If you buy something expensive, they charge you right away since the fee doesn't matter.

I don't know the exact parameters they use to determine when to charge, but it's worked well for them for many years. It was all set up during the early iTunes Music store days.

Seems they are posting stuff on the blog and it seems like the features people are most interested in are trophies and psn integration. If they are able to get both then this could be pretty big. It will be interesting to see how many developers produce games for this.

then they'll be going against Microsoft amirite. i wonder if Microsoft's Windows phone and live thing will ever really work.

Mobile games have 3 activations.

Just got the Mini Gun on Super Crate Box. Holy shit.

I couldn't stop playing SCB...every time I open it...haven't had a "one more try" situation as bad as SCB in a long time!

=-=-=

Final steps of checking out the hack...was hoping for psx support for the missing wipeout....but meh this will do, had urbanix ages ago too. I know some of you will be mad...but loving my pricey UMD games again :)

I'd buy SCB but it's $2.50 too rich for my blood for right now. With that mindset in mind, I picked up Samurai Beatdown and what a great game. Rhythm-based left/right tapping gameplay, quite fun and easily worth the price. Good soundtrack/art, too, easy to learn/tough to master.

Hearty recommendation.

Yeah it's really good.

If you're looking at the cheap ones, go for Fuel Tiracas :)

Buttons in Super Crate Box makes the game so damn easy. Up to 873 crates on my first session and still going

Can you play with buttons on your iPhone? /yosp

The Edge article mentions that difficulty has apparently been ramped up a little bit on this version to compensate. I wonder if that's a Vita specific thing (can PSM software detect device type?) or across all devices.

Difficulty change in SCB? I see no changes but then again I'm on my first game still, lol

I played about 100 times and could barely get over 22 yesterday night...when it reached 15, I felt ninja...maybe a good thing there isn't any leaderboards atm, will get practicing.

Edge says:

To negate the advantage of playing with a D-pad and face buttons, the challenge has been beefed up, with numerous floating skulls arriving within seconds to ruin your day.

Dunno if that's just them though :P
