I had some gift card cash as well and was waiting for a good deal. I was on Extra for four more days. Premium is only $6 more than Extra with this so I upgraded to Premium for 32 cents and then bought a year. Nice deal

Mine was up end of the month and I thought I was going to have to set a reminder. I just happened to notice the Target gift card sale and was adding funds to my wallet when I saw I did not have to wait. Great timing.
 
Not working for me. I even unsubscribed just to see if it would activate the discount somehow but nothing.

Edit: Portugal here.

It's been like this for past three years I believe, no discount for renewal, only upgrades. Pretty shady if you ask me.

It worked for me (US) and my sub is not set to expire until the end of the month. I was able to do it from Deals > PlayStation Plus > See your available membership plans. I had set my Premium sub to not renew earlier so it would end on the 29th. I noticed the option to renew now at the discounted price showed up. Maybe it was because I was already on Premium?
 
I'm still stacked from the PS+ conversion for another 9 months. Then I'm out.

I've used the time trials and cloud streaming to try a game before downloading more than playing any of the game releases.

This year it seems even more stochastic, folks even reporting getting different percent discount on a same tier.

Just looked, don't see the discount offer on my dash. It's lapsing in the first week of December and I think I'm done with PS+ for the foreseeable future. Got the discount last year but not this year. Didn't use it at all so ok to let it go on my part.

You need to let the sub expire. Thats what i did last year to be able to get a discount when i downgraded from Extra to Essential. This year im just gonna let it stay expired as im doing all my gaming on PC.

Does not work for me and im in US. I wonder if it's because mine ends on Dec 9th.
 
I see they still treat Essential subscribers like crap (or people willing to pick up that sub). It's only about higher tiers and upgrading.

One of the reasons I have no regrets about dropping Essential last year and living sub-free.

They're offering me 20% discount which brings it down to £47.99.... got 33% last year for £42 but was already expired.
Was tempted to keep it for one more year only to use the £39 credit I have on my account already.

Doubt I will now - just a shame to lose all my monthly games...and that credit as well.
 
USA gamer. Been subbed to Plus since 2010. Bought every Sony console/handheld including PS4 Pro and PS5 Pro mid-gen upgrades. Thousands of gaming hours and purchases through the store. Premium Plus sub. No discount available. Doesn't show up on the console. Tried doing it through the app where the 33% offer signs up but once it makes me login for checkout I have to pay the full $160 retail price no discount.

It works on both I think. I just had to upgrade first to get the Premium deal

Could be wrong so no one upgrade unless they are sure first

What? You don't lose your credit... and the monthly games will still be in your backlog if you subscribe again in the future
 
Yep in Australia and all I have is the option to upgrade extra for remaining <1 year period. No stacking with the discount. All good my sub runs out October so I can leave it lapsed for a month or two prior to next black friday, might even have a better idea about future ecosystem I'll commit to. Certainly wouldn't extend past 2027 though without seeing everything on offer.
 
The way I see it.

I haven't really bought any ps5 games this year outside of death stranding 2. So, I've decided I'm going to keep ps plus extra and enjoy all the great games they've put on recently. The monthly games have been pretty decent with games id like to try.

Unless MS gives me some solid dates within the next year for games like Forza and Fable and If it wasnt for getting the halo remake day one within this year, id definitely say ps plus is now a much better service for your pound/dollar than gamepass ultimate.
 
I canceled my subscription yesterday and I immediately got a 33% discount offer for 12 months on ps plus premium... So if you are still not getting this offer, try canceling your subscription.


Unfortunately these days I don't have time to play the games on ps plus, I don't even remember the last ps plus game that I finished... I can barely play the games I buy.

Being a day one subscriber of ps plus, this is the first time I canceled it.

No more stacking for essential is a kick in the balls for their long time subscribers. I know it's been this way for a few years now but will keep calling it out.
 
Nah, this is the year my gaming subscriptions come to an end. First it was Gamepass and this week was PS+. The prices have become fucking absurd and I'd save money just buying what I want instead of getting a bunch of shit I don't with the occasional carrot.
 
I have Premium lapsing next week (due to the 5 days added I guess) and I have the discount (100€ instead of 151€ for a year)
 
I have the offer available for renewal if i log into playstation.com (uk), but i cancelled my renewal 2 weeks ago and it's due to expire on the 28th.

Try going to the cancel membership page, it might throw you the discount option as a hail-mary to keep you on.

My PS+ Premium is set to expire next month. I do not see any deals on my account to re-up my premium. I haven't done much gaming on my PS5 Pro this year to warrant another sub at full price, so I'll be fine with letting it lapse and wait till the next deal comes about.

I had cancelled early yesterday and that did not pop up. I just noticed it gave me the offer when I returned to the store later that evening after finding the Target bonus gift card offer. Sony does some weird stuff.

My Essential sub ends on the 27th and I was on the fence on renewing. I have an offer for 20% off Essential, but also a 33% discount on Premium.

So, Premium would be $107.19 if I let it lapse after the 27th. To those that have had Premium, did you feel you got the value out of it? Not sure that a price difference of $43.20 from Essential would be.

Hate that Sony still charges to play online.
