When your old sub expires and you try to launch the game it should check your account and renew the license without you having to redownload it. Might not work for all types of content though.
I know, I was not pleased. Wait for somebody else to answer just in case there's another way to update your licenses for each game.
Really hope this is the case. Recently went to a 500GB HDD so needless to say I took great advantage of my free Plus games.
This didn't work for any of my content when I renewed, sigh...
It's a somewhat recent feature. It worked for me less than 2 months ago.
Only on PS3 though, had to redownload my minis and PS1 games on the Vita.

Maybe it's only showing up as free for people that had previously downloaded it?
I don't think so because I previously downloaded RDR and I checked again and they're all showing up priced.

Renegade Ops is a weird one though. It only show you the demo. But after you took the demo to the checkout, the demo-button is now a buy-button, saying it's free for Plus.

They might be merging the full game unlocks. Cause that's how Renegade Ops works, download the demo, buy the unlock key.

Managed to get 1yr PSN+ for £24 earlier today, it was priced up as £30 and had 20% from o2, shouldnt off included it but the rest of the stuff i bought wouldnt scan so the manager did it all in one. Now waiting for some news about PSN+ on my Vita, dont want to buy many games for it until I know whats is actually in the Vita game collection (prob wont be many).

All of those were/are free here.
Some of them require you to get the demo first, then the "download demo" (or something) changes to "buy" with a price tag of 0.00 for Plus-members.
Again, they're not in a "guys, there's a bug, get these quick" section.
You have to manually search for them.

I went to check the US store and all I found was Wipeout HD and Critter Crunch free for PSN Plus users. And I dunno if this is a glitch or not but Wipeout HD Bundle is free for everyone. Already have it though so yeah.

Yup, they're free now on the UK store. Just got Dead Space 2 as I missed it last time round. Awesome!

They're rentals for PS+ subscribers. You get to play them for free as long as you're paying for the service.
