PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Yes, but it still boils down to the fact it's $4 a month, really. It's not like they charged you $70 and then gave you a $20 gift card- they charged you $4/mo for 12 months, or $50 for a year, right?

You cannot be charged $4 a month, that is impossible. You pay $17 or $50 to access the service.

"Fuck sake Sony giving me a game I already own and I'm sure 99% of other PS3 owners do as well since it's a staple franchise and so everyone bought it"

On a personal level, I don't care if other people bought it. All I know is that of the games released so far I already own Lara Croft, Outland, Darksiders, Space Marine, Virtua Fighter, Deus Ex and Dead Space 2.

It's great value for those who don't own this stuff, but man, it really sucks for me.

I agree, the whining in here is mind boggling. Oh well, that's the way of the world. Sony could give he Uncharted Trilogy for free next month, and I guarantee someone would find something to complain about.

They could start by giving us Uncharted 1 for free sometime. It's 5 years old and cheap and still much better than cheapy PSN titles I'll never bother downloading.

Damn that's some bad luck. But you'll be getting 2 new retail games in 2 days time and at least there was Motostorm, Infamous2, LBP2 and SR2 for you to enjoy. (I actually sell the games I own and are on plus cause I know I'll be subscribing to the service for at least the next 2-3 years)

Even if I've already played and beaten a game, a digital version of a retail game I own(ed) is of more value to me than a free copy of a digital game I already own.

In this vein, I'm extremely jealous of EU PS+ people.
Add in the Vita and PSP sales they get? Makes me wonder if I should have just created an EU account and bought everything there instead.

Yeah, that's all it is. I think PS Plus as a concept is terrific, and much more worthwhile than the absolute nothing that XBL Gold offers (Beyond the Live service. Which should absolutely not be £40).

Unfortunately, if the next games are Just Cause and Borderlands, I own those too.

It's bizarre, because I only own 30 - 40 games. The odds of them choosing this many that I have is incredibly slim, yet here we are.

EDIT: As a side-note, I tweeted Ross from Sony about it (Politely, obviously), and he said he's aware that it's an issue. So I'm wondering if down the line there'll be a selection of games that we can pick from. That would be nice.

I think day one pen games are on the table. Also I think the reason why you own so many of the titles offered is because they're going on a strict 80+ meta critic ranking so that narrows the title selection.

I just upgraded my HDD and when I check my Cloud Saves they wouldn't show up. Just says 159kb / 150mb with none of my saves... What can I do?

Why the attitude that retail games are automatically better than PSN games though? That doesn't seem like you. If Saints Row 2 or All4One are replaced by Sound Shapes or Journey or Dyad next month, is that not more than a fair trade to you?

Indeed, those retail games can also be gotten really cheap while the PSN games are still full price. You're getting more value for your money with PSN games.

This happened to me. I think I just installed a random game (simpsons arcade), saved quickly. Exited, and then tried to upload my save. I think this will resync it. I used simpsons because I didn't care if the save was ruined.

And it's not really $4 a month. I hate it when people break down subscription fees to per month. It's $50 a year. I can't just unsubscribe anytime during the 12 months
Per month or per year, I don't think that you in particular have much to complain about in any value breakdowns, chief.

Red Dead Redemption for EU PS+. Hell yes I will whine and bitch about crappy games for US PS+.

25% off for EU PS+ too.

Edit: Actually I guess there's a chance RDR may be coming to US PS+, which would be good if true

Nice. Will buy a years sub as it's 25% off.

Not at all interested in RDR though.

Aren't you worried about these rentals not crossing over to PS4? Selling your physical copy in favor of a rental makes no sense to me, especially as there's no guarantee if they'll be accessible on PS4.

There's not a guarantee that the PS4 will be backwards compatible either.

Would anyone else prefer it if Sony put up more games with good reputations and low sales? More Motorstorms, less RDRs

I'm guessing that a large percentage of the people who have enough interest to bother with PS+ are the same people who have already played the games they're putting up, in the EU at least.

Don't wanna sound like I'm whinging about the fact taht we're getting bigger games, but the more RDRs and Dead Spaces we get, the lower value I'm getting from the service

isn't it pretty much a forgone conclusion that ps4 won't play ps3 games period?

Why wouldn't it be? PS2 had BC, PS3 had BC (at least the first models did), so why wouldn't the first gen model PS4 not be BC?

All I'm saying is that there is no guarantee it will have BC. PS3 got it removed very quickly (Europe never got BC). Vita has really half-assed BC (no transfer program for UMD -> digital in the west). For Sony, it might be just another unnecessary cost.

Actually, the PS3 phat in Europe also had BC

my 3-month plus subscription is up in Sept and if the US keeps getting shit on with these 'free' games etc I won't be a + member any more. Was really excited about the announcement today until I read it was EU only...

I have RDR on the 360, but I never finished it or got that far in it (and a friend ruined the fucking ending I think).

I'll give it another go on PS3 :>

Wasn't EU meant to be getting two new games this week? Or is that tomorrow?

1 Gig Cloud storage, Red Dead, and Vita content just got announced.

Plus keeps getting better.

Well, the Vita Plus isn't already on top of your existing subscription, from my understanding. You have to buy the Vita Plus separately, for the same price as the PS+, which I don't think makes sense.

As much I defend Plus, and the Vita against ridiculous claims of how weak the console is in terms of content, I'm not sure the Vita has been around long enough to have enough back-content to offer people via Plus. And for the future, the Vita is seeming to be more and more poised as an addition to the PS3 experience, and not its own.

That being said, as soon as I see a month for Vita that seems worth it to me, I'll hop on board, because Plus has been so good thus far.

EU is getting RDR?

I predict Rag Doll Kung Fu for the US.

You don't say...

Considering I just sold the disc version of Red Dead, I wasn't really concerned about playing it on PS4.

I can only look at potentially getting the game on Plus as a beneficial thing. It's probably as likely for the blu ray version and downloadable versions to not carry over, but considering how Sony is attacking used sales... I bet the digital one is more likely.

Source? I already have bought Vita games at a Plus discount and currently have several free* Plus minis on my Vita, so I question the Vita specific premium.

I don't believe that at all, Why wouldn't the Vita Plus be on the same subscription as regular PS+? Do you have any links or anything talking about that?

Alright, now I'm starting to get a little peeved.

It's clear that SCEA have a different strategy compared to SCEE - I think the EU guy said that himself.

Best way to vote is with your wallets guys, if they see a massive drop off after the initial 3 months is up (which I presume will happen in NA) then surely Sony will pay more attention to what's happening with the NA +

No source, guys, it was just my understanding from listening to the conference. Hope I'm wrong, but I kinda doubt it...
