PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

And yet it was used as an example of the awesome games EU Plus got and the reason why it was so much better by the US Plus people.

I like you. Exact same three reasons why I prefer PSN over retail titles on Plus.

That's because those games are only awesome when they're in EU Plus (you know, because EU Plus used to suck). In US Plus it just sucks.

Nah, I'm just kidding. Borderlands is a solid September freebie. Obviously it was a popular game so a ton of people have played it, but I happen to be in the camp that hadn't, so I'm happy.

I'm of the mind that downloadable games can be just as awesome as retail games. The only thing a retail release might have over the average downloadable game is the level of content, but even then there are extremely meaty PSN Plus games well worthy of attention.

Honestly I'd rather have PSN games than retail games, for several reasons.

1. Large file sizes on retail games (take forever to download, eat up space).
2. Retail games can drop in price (I can get Borderlands for like $6 on Blu-Ray right now if I didn't already have it digitally), PSN games tend to stay at the price they launched at.
3. There's virtually nothing in PSN's selection of retail games that I want to play and haven't already. However there are a lot of PSN games I would like to play.

But I'm sure I'm in the minority here. Ah well. I honestly kinda miss the old PS+.

Good points, and personally I've been enjoying the PSN games that I've gotten since I've signed up, Outland and the two episodes of walking dead more than any of the free retail games that I've gotten, I got bored of JC 2 pretty quickly and the other retail games I've owned already.

I'm looking forward to trying out Borderlands when it drops though.

So that's the new trend? I don't like that just announce them all at once. That could mean the difference between me letting my sub run out one month or renewing so I hope they stop playing games with us.

it's been like that since the Rayman Origins discount debacle back in May

That's a really weak update. I was expecting something huge since most people's 3 month subscriptions that they bought before E3 are running out and surely they'd want people to resubscribe, but I guess not. I already own Borderlands, so there's nothing of interest for me.

I think you need to download the demo and the activation tool, spwolf.

but i downloaded large EP1 from Plus section? I dont understand.. usually if it is separate activation then there is also a activation download listed in same space so you know to click on it.... anyone?

I buy every half way decent downlaodable game on launch day. I buy more downloadable games than I do retail games actually.

Nice to see some discounts going but it's still far too little. Plus needs to offer way more sales than they currently do, just free games won't cut it for me. My sub runs out September 4 and since I already have Borderlands I won't be resubscribing anytime soon, there's no reason to.

They did some 50% sales not to long ago and that awesome Square one where you could get FF7-8-9 for $4, which was great, but it really needs to be a once-a-month kind of thing and not once-a-season.

I'm satisfied with Borderlands for this month. I've played a little bit of it and it seems fun. I totally saw it coming though. With Borderlands 2 just around the corner, offering the first game as a freebie to Plus users will probably boost sales a bit.

I just hope games like Deus Ex are still coming down the pipe for the US later this year. I don't care about RDR since I already own a digital copy of it.

Well the free game in september is a disapointment for me. I am not really into FPS. Atleast the larger cloud game saves is coming to make up for it.

I love how when I leave PS+ suddenly decides to become awesome.
Oh well i'll be grabbing it when I get back, not to mention Sony likes to sometimes recycle some content for those who have missed out on it.

Borderlands is much more like Fallout 3 than Call of Duty so no I don't classify it as a FPS under the normal understanding of the term

edit: if I'm wrong just want to clarify I've only ever watched a former roommate play it plus it's now 5am and I haven't slept yet for some reason

Borderlands is nothing like Fallout 3, except for the setting maybe...

its an FPS with Diablo mechanics if you will.
