It's hard to tell if you hate shmups or not from the previous post.

Yeah, about half are shumps, the rest are puzzle games or fighting game (okay, one fighting game iirc). Monkeypaw games has pretty good descriptions and surprisingly honest reviews. But for what I know:
Gaiaseed: A shmup made for normal people. Not bullet-hell like new ones, not a vicious memorization game like R-Type, just kinda easy thanks to the recharging shields (and rather short). Famous for the soundtrack. Oddly rare though, even after it came out on the PSN in Japan physical copies were still worth $150.
Cho Aniki: Hit youtube. It can't be sufficiently described. Seriously. This version is notable for using digitized photos for a lot of the in-game graphics.
Money Idol Exchanger: Apparently plays a lot like Critter Crunch, even though nobody at Capybara had heard of it. Supposed to be a knockoff of Magical Drop F, which is also available on the import store.
But go to
http://monkeypawgames.com/, they have really good descriptions of every game, complete with directions on how to play them. If you buy any of these games, you're probably going to want to go there anyway.
