PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

So without a phone call or email response, Sony just emailed to say they have closed my complaint as they have tried to contact me and I didn't respond. I called to see what phone number they have and they have my mobile, which I have not received any calls from them. I tend to not miss any calls :/

This is your PS+ resubscription issue? I'd call up and be mad as hell. That's not ideal advice, mind you, but that's my personal response to that kind of impersonal treatment.

Total bullshit. We need to crank up the pressure on this issue.

Maybe get a seperate thread for this issue? Other sites tend to read up on GAF and get news from here. Maximum coverage needed.

We're not getting the MAG trial US is getting? Horseradish.

I bought a handful of Plus months for Hulu and Killzone access but I'm going to stay a subscriber. They really give you a lot of awesome free stuff and tons of discounts. PS+ is an awesome deal.

In the US this month alone there is $45 worth of free stuff and its $50 for 15 months. It really is a no brainer for any new to PS3/PSN owner.

I called them today and they have had to start a new incident on it =/ The hell? Just reopen my old. It's getting silly now as I can't actually buy any of the content I lost for the hour I was not a subscriber for. I should be entitled to it to be honest.

James on the blog was fecking useless, I asked him to either message me on PSN or twitter for his direct email so I can raise the issues I have found. Yet nothing.

Someone needs to raise this in the press, Kotaku and VG247 actually passed me up on the offer:lol They don't like real news.

I'm glad they're starting to give discounts and stuff on PSP games. I felt the PSP was getting rather neglected earlier.

Hopefully they'll start doing discounts on some of their better titles, so I can rebuy games like Patapon on the network for super cheap.

Nice, Lead & Gold is a lot of fun. I have it on PC and felt like it would be a very fun console game. I know it's pretty dead on the PC so hopefully the Ps3 one gets a decent following with this.

Its not sensationalist enough for them. Tsk.

You need to throw in that Andrew House actually came to your house, deleted your account and shat on your doorstep.

Between Oddworld, CTR and Spyro, soon all my PS1 disc games will be obsoleted by free PSN Plus offers.

And nice on Lead and Gold, tried it on PC and liked it.

Fuck, help.

My sub expires in just under two hours and I don't want it to auto renew. I just want to buy another three months.

How the fuck do I do this when the option is not on the PlayStation Store?

You have to go under account management. My ps3 is not beside me right now but look under there and you'll find psn+ and a checkbox to uncheck for the auto sub.

Sorry I can't be more specific but it's easy to find if you comb through account management.

I had a three month sub and I want a year one. I already unchecked auto renew but there is no option in the PS Store to buy a sub anymore for me. Nothing under the Plus space or in Latest.

What a bunch of fucknuts.

it's under new releases at least it shows up for me

I think you can only buy another 3 months while you're NOT a PS+ member. The yearly sub is also only indirectly available via the auto-renew option. Makes kinda sense but in your case you now have to hope that you keep your stuff from your first three months if you decide to buy 3 for months instead of auto-renew.ing Fingers crosses that they really fixed that or that it doesn't matter if it's just 5 minutes before you regain PS+.

I really hope this thing autorenews or I'm fucked. I've left it up to that as its my only option.

So what happened? Seems like your time is up and it should have auto-renewed by now. In any case, it seems like newly expiring accounts are safe from that report we got in this thread. It would be nice to have confirmation on that either way if your account did indeed expire instead of auto-renewing.

Technically its run out, but its remained active. Hasn't renewed yet.

Google didn't really help, where can I check when my PS+ expires? I did the three month and think it's coming around soon but I love PS+.

Thank you very much sir. I shall ask $2 Space Shooter.

Did we ever find out if you can stack subs? Like, if I were to buy a year sub now, would it just add another year's worth of time to my current sub?

I know you can do that with Live subs, and it would make renewing easier for some of us.

Galvanise_ said:

I wonder if anyone whose account is on the verge of expiring has ever tried setting the PS3 system clock back a day or two, in an attempt to artificially extend his activation while the system remains offline? That might be a way to prevent the system from disabling the games on a lapsed account--provided that you don't connect that system to PSN, of course.

Use the following path on your PS3 to check when your Playstation Plus membership expires.
Account Management -> Transaction Management -> Services List

Well, it seems you can't do it in the UK, given Galvanise_ tried to do that earlier today. As for the US store, I'm pretty sure the option to purchase more time remains once you have already purchased Plus, so the only question is whether that stacks your time or you just lose any remaining time.

I guess we won't know for sure unless some kind sole who is about to run out of a three month sub decides to renew a day or two early and tell us what happens.

It could work, but I doubt it. I assume the expiry time uses the fixed PS3 clock that is installed in every system and isn't updated when you change the date/time setting. The clock I mean here is the one that caused the March 1 bug on Phat consoles earlier this year when it thought it was a leap year. The system probably has something in place to use to detect attempts to screw with the settable clock to avoid expiry.

Well Sony have refused to do anymore for me with regard to my complaint. They feel all has been done. Yet the trouble with their service remains. I have now emailed Andrew House again and used the Plus manager's name saying he has refused to be of any help. Even used the former SCEE employee line to try and get something done.

So you lost your games, SCEE support says "tough luck", and that's it?

I guess we're down to the point where I have to get details and write something. Did SolidusDave ever get an answer (or a new answer) from support?

Yep. They say it can't be that my games are gone etc. They refuse to believe they have a faulty system and won't let you contact the right people to get it sorted.

Update on my situation.

Basically I was waiting for it to auto-renew even though I just wanted to purchase a years sub (the option had gone). Anyways, my subscription had technically expired as it had gone past the expiry date but it was set for auto renew. The day after I got an e-mail telling me they'd renewed it.

Was cacking myself for a while.

Did it renew for a year?

And problem resolved. All my missing content has returned to my download list and I now have a year subscription waiting once mine ends.

Nice, especially the extra free year.
So did they tell you if it was an error in their system and if that's fixed or if there are certain conditions you have to avoid?
How did you convince them anyway? I want to call them this week and therefore would like to know.

Is it just me, or has every single one of the free themes by "Disruptive" been complete trash? I don't even know why they are wasting what little money they are spending on having them made.

I'd rather have only one free theme every 3 months if it was at least a decent one, and preferably a dynamic one.

I still have the issue of not being able to buy a years sub if I want one. Mine autorenewed for another three months. The option to buy a years sub has disappeared from my store.

I still use their "Bloodwork" theme that I bought years ago. None of the free ones have been any good, imo.

There were a few that I liked. There was one called "Shades of Autumn" that was released for free on PS+ a few months ago, which I thought was very nice looking.

ACII Deluxe edition has the 2 DLC chapters right? If I already cleared the game on bluray, can I use the same savefile with the PSN version? It would be great if I could clear the 2 DLCs within the 1 hour trial. It would be basically free DLC :)

The Drop on PlayStation.Blog this week describes it like this:

PlayStation.Blog said:
Assassin’s Creed II: Deluxe Edition — The Assassin’s Creed II Deluxe Edition includes 3 bonus maps! Explore some of the Renaissance’s most prestigious monuments to reveal secret treasures in three special in-game maps: Palazzo Medici, Santa Maria Dei Frari, and the Arsenal Shipyard. Assassin’s Creed 2 is an epic story of family, vengeance and conspiracy set in the pristine, yet brutal, backdrop of a Renaissance Italy. Ezio befriends Leonardo da Vinci, takes on Florence’s most powerful families and ventures throughout the canals of Venice where he learns to become a master assassin.

Two of the three "special in-game maps" were from the Master Assassin's Edition of the game. I'm not sure about the third, but after doing some quick Web searchig, it looks like that might have been a preorder or collector's edition bonus in some parts of the world (along with the other two maps).

With that in mind, I don't believe you're going to get the two DLC chapters with this. But if you find out anything different, let us know!

The initial blog post about the AC2 Deluxe Edition being available described it as including both DLC's:

PlayStation Plus subscribers will also be able to download a full game trial of Assassin’s Creed II Deluxe Edition, which includes the two DLC sequences (Battle for Forli and Bonfire of the Vanities).
