PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

Not open for further replies.
I tried out that automatic download thing and it downloaded 3 patches and the Beyond Good and Evil HD demo. I understand the patches, but why did it download that demo? It said something like "(push demo)" and it has that PS+ icon next to it when i view installed games and demos.

Since most people's trials of Plus are ending today, it's set up from the start to automatically renew you assuming you still have a card on file. You have to go to Account Management and opt out or you will be charged.

Automatic renewal is not activated for WB Plus subscribers. And you can't activate/deactivate it, unless you subscribe for the service.

Mine was set to auto-renew, but I opted out and I don't have a card on file with PSN anymore. Just giving people a head's up.

Some demos or media selected/recommended by the PSN-team is downloaded "pushed" to your PS3. Can be disabled in XMB. A feature I really like, and the games they push usually is pretty good.

It just makes up for the last time when the promo was cut short because of the PSN hack. I guess I should post the pic in here as a reminder the deal ends July 11th.

Well done. :) I thought about doing it myself, but I'm betting Sony will offer it again in the next 3 months or so. And if not...well, so be it, I'll re-up.

Yeah mine has had March 9, 2013 for a while now. This coming year of PS+ will determine if I renew again.

So are you guys just buying another two years while that deal is on? I'm going to renew mine (UK) as soon as my PSN card comes through, not sure when that'll take me to - what with the extra time from the hack and whatnot. :)

I got a free extra month. :D

1 year sub will push you through to March 2013 if you've had Plus since day 1. :)

77 million people? There are not 77 million PSN users. Sony doesn't report on unique, individual active users. They aggregate all their "Playstation" accounts across all users and systems, consoles and portables, and do not filter out for actives. It's a significantly inflated number that they refuse to shed clarity on. (Though feel free to now!)

and you think Xbox Live is any different with their numbers?

Oh, completely. They provide unique users and by membership type across one device (Xbox 360). Very different than the non-transparent numbers Sony provides across anything with a "Playstation" name attached to it.

It was for mine. Was the first thing I checked and had to turn it off.

I dunno, Soul Reaver is an excellent PS1 classic (IIRC the lady that writes the plot for Uncharted did this one too) and I always wanted to try Battle Cars.

But maybe I'm just easily pleased :D

I too like this update.. Soul Reaver, Battlecars and Golden Axe.. 3 games that I haven´t tried yet..

Great update for me.. will renew my subscription tonight (runs out later this month)..

I've played about 2 games in mu year of PS+. was fooling myself into thinking that I'll play the minis and PS1 games on Vita but that ain't ever gonna happen, not renewing my subscription. Found it a rubbish service overall, getting year old PSN games was not to my liking and only found it useful when having the service got a discount for Dead Nation. Live and you learn I guess, still won't be able to get my £40 or whatever back though......:(

I like the automatic download feature, but I wish I could filter what I want by content type.

2 games? Did you forget to redeem a lot of a high profile free games or something?

A post here or in the PS Store thread seemed to say that games given away as Trial + Key turn out to be free forever. I don't know if that's really true, but it's an interesting hypothesis.

It's in the XMB under Account Management. It's the same place people had to go when they were having problems downloading the free welcome back games.

That's Golden Axe 2 though.

Who cares? So there are 77 million ACCOUNTS. You must get upset about Facebook's 750 million accounts number as well...

I've had it since day one, but I'm UK based and we didn't originally get the extra three months. When I renew the extra three months now should see me through to November next year I think.

I'm happy with what I've had from PS+ so far, but I'm not tempted by the 'deal' for EU renewing for 2 more years - I have no particular interest in Sega Rally Online Arcade. Hopefully next year they'll do the same, and hopefully the next year of PS+ will be as good as the first has been.

Ok so since I've been away for a long time I couldn't post the following but have been dying to tell you guys. It's regarding the supposedly "free for life" PS+ freebies such as Stacking, Sam&Max etc due to having no expiration date....

Well props go to a CAGer and his findings. I'll update when I get his details. Anyways this person was grateful to get real freebies from his ps+ membership until he logged on into the Qriocity website where you can manage our account.

Anyways if you go to transactions or whatever on that site that shows all your bought/DLed content, on the right it lists either an expiration date or just blank. Obviously stuff you buy has no expiration. Now if you look for content that has no expiration on your PS3, IT WILL SHOW an expiration on this site!!! Is Sony stealthily fooling us? Yep, that seems like it as the founder of the info happen to not reapply for PS+ and stacking wouldnt boot up. It must of gave him an error explaining that the content couldn't be played due to his membership being expired or what have you.

But the thing is some of the free content from Plus such as themes and DLC are also showing an expiration although always said be be free for real to users so I'm not sure what to think of it.(maybe the dlc stays on your ps3 but gets removed from your history list so you can't redownload again?) I believe him though and you can see expiration on stuff that doesn't have one on the PS3 so take this however you like. Honestly I think it's very sly-like and bad for Sony to do that and mislead people like that.

Er, so they're actually doing what we understood when we agreed to pay for plus, and not the optimistic idea that we let take a life on it's own? An idea imagined because someone didn't see an expiration date, thought it was weird, and posted (somewhere) about it.

What a scandal...

Stacking stopped working for me after the patch. It reverted back to the demo.
Sam and Max still worked when I was not subscribed to plus.
Stuff just gets removed from your download history.
If it doesn't have an expiration on the ps3 and there is no update that kills it, you will own the game as long as you have that ps3. You cannot redownload it if your ps3 breaks.

First time in hearing about Stacking reverting to a demo from a patch. Since I have the automatic update on and haven't played it since last time, I'm guessing I'm screwed. That's kinda shitty.

Ah I couldn't check that.

Forgot my password I used during the great password reset.

It appears that SNK will be releasing a lot of their early (pre-Neo-Geo) arcade games as Minis. I would assume from the discount that the full price for them would be $2.99 each. These aren't the first early arcade games to be released as Minis; a few Data East arcade games were also released as Minis about a year ago.

Looks like it will actually be Golden Axe and not 2 like the blog previously stated.

EDIT: Just looked back at the old blog post and they corrected it there. I guess I didn't see the correction.

Anyone else getting install errors for the free PS+ games this week? I tried installing them on my Go, and got some weird error.

I just downloaded Alien Zombie Death and Me Monstar: Hear Me Roar through Media Go and installed them to my PSP-1000 without any problems.

Sorry for late reply, and your next post makes it redundant, but maybe helpful for others

Account Management > Transaction Management > Service List > PlayStation Plus

What happens to the saves you uploaded to the cloud once Plus expires? Are they going to be deleted or you'll just lose access to it until you renew?

They're kept for 6 months.
