hi guys.

Could you tell me if plus has an auto update game feature? I've been meaning to update GT5 but cant be arsed to sit there and look at the black screen for 10 days. Could I update GT5 without having the disc in, in the background?

PS+ does have an auto-patch feature, so any game you've played recently (or ever, if some of the updates I receive are anything to go by! :p) will be automatically updated if you set it to do that.

Now I don't have GT5 personally, but I seem to recall that it patches itself within the game (rather than before it launches, like most games)? If that's the case I'm not sure that will work. :(

It patches when before launch :)

Thanks :D

I'm pretty sure it will expire like all free game offers, so if you dont grab it in that peroid. Well shit, sorry. =(

They don't come down every two weeks though do they? There would be no reason to specify the resident evils are 2 weeks then.

Sweet, Plants vs Zombies is really cool. Are the RE games worth it? I mean those games are so really old.. I got Rayman last week because that's 2d and still looks great.

I still can't get the automatic update feature to work. I set the time via internet, which sets it to the wrong time strangely, reset internet settings etc. and my PS3 still hasn't turned on in the last week, just stayed on standby. What the fuck?

I can't make my mind up on whether I prefer the iPhone version or PS3. The iPhone is easier to control when the game heats up (even with the screen obscuring control method), but the PS3 one is so pretty and I love the tweaks made to the music. ^_^

The game is made for Move support!

If the time is wrong after setting via the internet then it's probably because you need to change the setting for daylight savings time. At the moment that setting should be on.

Strangely though my automatic update has been working regularly since I set the time manually, so you could try that instead.

Apparently this problem is going to be fixed in an update, we'll probably be seeing 3.71 in the next week or two.

I actually find PS3 much easier than the phone version to control. I seem to be able to move faster.

Getting the trophy for surviving 40 waves of zombies is rendered nigh-on impossible by the sheer amount of lag that occurs once things start getting really busy. Decent game, but what a shitty ass port.

Hmm, I like parts of the PS3 control (like being able to "queue" your next plant visually) but in terms of placing things (and harvesting the sun) I prefer the iPhone.

Hmm, I haven't come across that yet - can't be any worse than my 3GS when it gets hectic though!

EDIT: Hmm, hmm, hmm. Note to self: less pondering while you're at work!

I got a question concerning PLUS for buying single games from HD remaster compilations

Like God Of War: Chains Of Olympus and God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta available for purchase on PLUS

if I get a month membership then decide to buy only one of these PLUS available games... will I lose access to it when I don't renew PLUS the following month?

don't tell me to be the retail version.. I am asking this question to see if I can only buy one

because I only MGS3 out of the MGS collection coming up later
We don't know if the MGS collection will be available as a PSN download or if it'll be available separately.

You do have the automatic log in switched to 'on' for the profile that has PS+?

I used to have it so it didn't automatically log in (as kids would mess up my trohpies/games saves) but the auto updates won't work that way

it also automatically saves your (selected) game saves to the server now - nice feature

Ok I'm fairly sure I understand this but I figured I'd ask just so I don't do something stupid.

I have a code for one month of Plus, which I wanted to use to get Resident Evil 4 and probably Code Veronica for 50% off on the 20th(if there is no online DRM). I noticed on the Playstation Blog that the PS1 Classics of RE1 and 3(also 2 but I already have it) are going to be free for Plus users but 50% off for regular users. I don't want to continue Plus after the free month, so to keep RE1 and 3 I should buy them first at half off and then use the Plus code to get RE4 and CVX for half off?

Yes

Ok thanks. That actually kind of sucks for long term Plus users since they miss out on a sale that they wouldn't have to keep paying to use.
Not really, it's quite easy to make another PSN account and buy the games at a discount and still use them on the primary PS+ account. Some people are just lazy or don't want multiple accounts for no reason.

To help get you caught up on the series leading up to RE4, we’re offering the PSone versions of Resident Evil 1 Director’s Cut, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis at 50 percent off for all PlayStation users and FREE to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Saw this on the PSblog today. Will Plus subscribers be able to purchase the PSone games half off too?

I'm now part of the PS+ master race for 3 months. :P

Hoping to see discounts on Space Channel 5 pt. 2 and Machinarium.

Don't want it FREE. Would rather pay the $2.99/$4.99 price tag so that it's mine in the end for keeps.

You missed the sale unfortunately, happened a few months back (got RE3 for 2.99).

Yeah, I did miss out on RE1 back when they were doing the 15th Anniversary PSone discounts. But I did grab both RE2 and RE3 when they were on sale.

I'm hoping they will give you an option to either buy the games 50% off or download them for free. Has that ever happened before?

I don't think so.
I'm downloading them all to keep them in my download list (so I can download them forever, as long as I'm a PS+ member) but I only plan to play Nemesis, because I've never finished it.
I'm not sure about renewing my membership, but I don't have to think about until a year.

My year of Plus runs out on October 6th, so I need to renew it by then. There's currently a 20% off offer, which would make it £31.99 (UK) so a couple of questions:

1. If I renew now, will the year be added on to the end of my existing sub, or would it start now and I'd lose the couple of weeks in between?

2. Can you still buy Plus subscriptions using wallet funds from PSN cards? Shop To are doing a £25 card for £22.85, so I can save a bit of money that way. Fairly sure the answer is yes, but thought I'd best check before I buy the PSN card.

1. Yes they stack, so you could buy two if you wanted to and they'd run consecutively from the expiry of your current subscription.
2. Yes you can buy them with PSN wallet credit, I bought my last upgrade with a £50 card that I just added to my wallet.

Bad news for you. It appears to be a bug and Im not sure who this should be told to at Sony.

Anyways PS+ members cant purchase content thats on sale for regular memebers but Free for PS+ members or maybe I remember wrong.

Ill give you an example. Age of Zombies was free for PS+ users months ago which I got. Then months later it went on sale for everyone for say $.99 which I so wanted to buy since I'd like to actually own it. Sadly since I had DL the game for free from PS+ (aka rental), it wouldnt let me purchase it to keep!!!!!(only option that came up was "download" link, no buy link) It pissed the hell out of me, who the hell came up with that fucking flaw?

Only way to be able to buy is if my membership expired, sadly I had like 8 months left and these sales only last for like 2 weeks :/

I may be wrong but I'd say if you're a PS+ member the only option that shows is to get for free. Hoping Im so wong.

It should've had Move support.
When PvZ launched, the dude from PopCap who wrote the PS Blog post acted pretty bemused at the demands that (a) the price be lower and (b) it include Move support. He suggested they'd look into it, but that never happened, as far as we can tell.

Frankly, people complain too much. I haven't finished the game, truly, but I have made it a decent way and the least of my complaints is getting all the sunlight.

Wait for the inevitable PSV port, if it's a problem. :)

I let my Plus subscription run out today... I always thought that the PS1 classics you get, you got to keep that they didn't have an expiration?

Oddly enough, PvZ still works though.

Any games you get that are free through Plus will expire when your subscription runs out.

Subscribe again to get access to those games.
But I think you have to redownload them.

Yeah I noticed PvZ didn't have an expiration date. Thanks for confirming it.

Can you test all your psx games from psn+? Still unsure if they expire or you get to keep them. Kotaku posted they don't expire so I'm still confused.

Or simply wait for a LBP2 port with Move support :-)

All my ps1 games expired.

I mean, I know that the free games expired, but I always thought (and heard) that the PS1 games were freebies that you keep. Almost all of my other free games I downloaded expired, including the genesis games and the PSP Minis.

PvZ and Bomberman Ultra didn't expire. Weird.
