Until Sony sends out a patch and people update them without knowing. It's happened in the past to make games stop working. I'm pretty sure Stacking was one of them.
 
Got 3 months last night to get RE4 and CV:X to see that Bloodrayne was taken off PSPlus, bleh.

Can someone clear this up though: The uploading to the cloud. It asked me when I started a game last night (Resonance) and I turned it on for 4-6am. So my system turned on @ 4am, uploaded my saves and turned off @ 6am?

Did it uploaded all my save files or just Resonance of Fate?

It only uploads the saves for the games that you've selected to be uploaded. The 4-6am time frame only means it'll turn on at one point during that time and it'll only be on for the amount of time it takes to upload the saves and sync your trophy data. It only takes my PS3 a minute or two according to the times I've been near my PS3 when it's done the automatic sync.
 
What the hell is this?

I just turned on my PS3 and I went over the XMB and I noticed there were items downloading in the background. I take a look and it's 3 patches. (LBP, SF3 and Dead Nation)

My Auto Update window is 10am (nearly 10 hours ago) but it's never done this. I can play games while it pulls down the patches. Pretty sure you can't control the console during the automatic window.

Anyone in the house that might have turned it off? Or maybe a quick power outage? I've cancelled the update before and saw the update files in my download list. They are treated like any other download package (Games, demos, videos, etc.)

Makes me wonder why we can't update multiple games simultaneously without the auto update turned on.
 
It's possible there was a power cut. That would also explain why I couldn't reproduce it. It makes no sense, though. I was able to play other games while downloading three patches. Why the hell, then, does it say "You cannot background download this content" when we're patching the regular way? Clearly, it can. Because it did.

Infuriating.

Every other day it starts somewhere between 4 and 6 am and stops when it's done.

You'll see what's been uploaded/patched/etc. the next time you manually start your PS3.
 
I was thinking automatic renewels would be this week for the 1 year PS+ members who subscribed on launch day (because of the extra 3 months free), but I just looked at my subscription and it says renewel date is now 12/7/11.

Is this the case for everyone?

The difference is the time tacked on from the PSN outage (outage time plus the free month), which totals out to a little more than two months IIRC.

I can't remember the last demo it downloaded for NA but as far as I know it'll still do those in the future.
 
So I just got a new PS3 as a second one for the home.... and cloud saves don't seem to work or even pop up for me?

I've activated it, had my PS+ active ever since I had cloud saves and even checked the utility (reads 122MB free out of 150MB). But when I go to the tab to try copy any saves over, all I get is the message telling me how to save, not showing any actual saves.

Help? :(

Are you signed on to your other machine at the same time? Only thing I can think of is being online with two machines at the same time. Or double check your setting, sync you machine, and hope?

Sony still has that twitter support maybe they can think of something else.
 
Updated OP with links to the current pages in US, EU, JP, and HK sites to get PS+ info. Also some stuff about the cloud and trophy synchronization.

Are there PS Blogs for JP, HK, etc. and do they have PS+ tags on those blogs? If you find them, I will add them.
 
Anyone tried re-subscribing after their previous subscription actually expired to see if their free downloaded games were still available to download ?

I want to be sure that if I'm not re-subscribing before it expires (but maybe 3 months later), I can still have access to all the free games I have "purchased" with PS+.

I have and yes. Any and all games that have been downloaded for free will appear on your download list the same day you resubscribe.
 
The RE4 $10 deal got me to sub.

Most of the save file syncing is working, however it's not syncing Disgaea 4 saves... still some bugs to work out. But it is awesome the system will turn on, do it's thing, then shut off. If you have files downloading and shut the system off, they continue to download when it turns on at the scheduled time which is a plus. Fix the bugs, and the discounts combined with the online save syncing will probably keep me subbed past the year.

Same here.

I think my favorite thing about PS+ so far (outside of the free games and discounts, which are great) are the daily auto-patching and the daily automatic installs.

I HATED waiting for PS3 downloaded games to install. Most annoying thing about the system.

The auto patches are pretty much useless to me because it only checks the last 10 games instead of all of the games. I would love to play a game I haven't played in a year and not have to wait for a patch to download/install.

It's about time they gave us greater control over what games get updated to be honest. Once a game has been added to the list (i.e. played) you should be able to define whether you want it updated or not (defaulting to on) so that you can disable it for games that you're not likely to play again.

It's a very fun game, especially if you like going around and collecting stuff. The DLC is fun too.

Wait until the next firmware update. With auto downloads it takes about 2 minutes from start to end.

Are you sure this is true? I can confirm my copy is not a demo after the patch. I know it updated to 1.01 or something the last time, I recently booted up and I'm where I left off and can get trophies etc. I even checked my history and the demo+unlock key are listed.
 
I'm thinking about subscribing for PS+, but I have one question. Hopefully someone here can answer.

Does the cloud save work automatically? Meaning when you boot a game up will it automatically check what you have saved on the cloud, or do you have to manually save the cloud save onto your console before playing?
