PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I actually see a 20% chance of that happening. I mean the titles listed have all pretty much bombed at launch when everyone else was buying Uncharted and I'd say publishers would be more than happy to get some money out of those PSP games.

yeah exactly, and one of the big perks for PS+ games is they get more promotion (at least on the PS3, assuming it will be the same for Vita), so they'll probably see an uptick in sales to the non-PS+ masses.

Man if they launch an Instant Game collection composed of PSP games and PS One games with like 5 Vita titles in the first year (Little Deviants, Hot Shots, Escape Plan, Virtua Tennis, Unit 13 for example) I'd be buying a Vita first thing tomorrow.

then I hope they will do a separate PS Vita + service because I do not want to pay for games I cannot play on my PS3

I need to put my free 10 month subscription to good use. Really hoping we get some good stuff on Vita as Plus subscribers.

I can understand the confusion here - people are concerned that the price will go up, that they'll introduce a second subscription or that the Vita content will infringe on the PS3 content. Not sure which way they'll go to be honest - although a second sub (with a package price if you subscribe to both) kind of makes sense to me.

No it's 50 for PS3 and Vita combined.

Which is the way it should be. Benefits Sony too, that way. People who own a PS3 and have PS+ suddenly have a ton of free Vita games in their library...Makes a Vita purchase a lot more tempting for them.

That's a good point that you've mentioned.

Building on what you said, it might be a good idea for Sony to offer some good cross-play games on PS+ as an incentive for users to try out the cross-play features.

The implication in everything I've seen them say is that they are doubling the value you get for your money if you have both systems - you'd still have a full range of PS3 support but now a full range of Vita support in conjunction with it for your money.

I must admit I'm still somewhat sceptical about that; just doubling the worth of a subscription (for at least a portion of the subscribers) is a big move, and seems a bit too good to be true. That's not an assertion that it's not true - it's certainly within Sony's capabilities to offer that - but it seems unusually generous.

I'll be interested to see if in the coming months there's some bitterness from PS3 owners who start to percieve that the PS3 offering is in some way lacking and attributed it to this move, even if that's not actually true when you look at the numbers objectively - maybe the games being offered start being seen as 'lesser games' simply *because* the Vita offering is now also available and therefore they *must* be offering you less.

Yeah exactly. They have a lot of different things they could do with it.

Also works the other way around, too. If there's anyone out there who owns a PSVita but not a PS3 (there has to be someone!) and they sign up to PS+, they suddenly have a ton of free PS3 games on their account. Hence, it probably makes a PS3 purchase a lot more tempting to them

or you stop paying for the service

I think you're just looking for things to pick at. Why would getting MORE games for your money be a bad thing?

Also, was i imagining things? I was sure PSVita + was announced for September, but all i can find is "this year"...

I think it was 'this year...with the details coming soon'. Maybe Ross has actually moved over to overlook the Vita PS+?

Anyway this is a brilliant strategy for Sony. They are targeting the ps3 users with Vita, they admitted as much so this clearly works well with that. As I've said an instant game collection would actually get me to buy Vita straight away because it completely eliminates the issue of having no games for a new console.

My PS+ sub is over and with next update not bringing anything I'm interested in I don't intent to re-sub for now.

Same here. Sony knew a ton of people subscribed for the E3 extravaganza, and that their subscriptions would be expiring at about this time. They should make (have made?) sure that September's update is/was super awesome so people will/would re sub.

Fuck. I didn't realize that PS+ automatically renewed. I was just charged for 3 months. I was thinking of getting 12 months, now I have to pay for 3 =/...

Ahahaha mine renewed for 3 months a couple days ago... signed up right before E3.

I got an email from PlayStation about funds being added to my wallet, and I started to freak out that my account had been compromised. So compared to that happening its okay LOL.

That's why they have Red Dead Redemption as a game of the month?

Any subscription on PSN auto renews. You can turn it off though. Account management -> Transaction Management -> Services list.

^I know, Music Unlimited renewed for a month without me knowing it. Good service but needs some tweaking but price is too high for a month.

Hate auto renewals. :/

I tried Music Unlimited for a month and they said they would put me on a subscription after and I was like "good luck". No home console has my credit card number.

Well, too bad I'm not in Europe.

Guess so, hopefully you guys get good titles too soon. Europe will be getting more PSN games after RDR, in fact October and November seems to be full of PSN games rather than BR releases. So maybe that's when you guys start getting retail games?

Europe, for once the superior region...tough to believe we were still the inferior region back in February or March this year.

You shouldn't assume someones region when replying. Seems to happen quite a few times in this thread when discussing content.

If Playstation+ is supposed to auto install updates for me, why am I now installing a 2gb update for Dust 514?

You have to boot the game at least once. I found this as a big annoyance.

I didn't want to assume what your region was. I was simply saying that Europe is the superior region out of the ones where PS+ is offered going by the recent trend.

I need a hard drive upgrade. Is there anything specific people recommend nowadays? I'll be upgrading from 160gb. Thanks!

what? thats crazy... good... kind of makes you buy Vita.
I think that's the point ;) I'm on the same boat. Once all these games start rolling I'll be anxious to play them and will most likely cave to buy a vita.

Also let's not forget that to truly avail of ps plus on vita you'll need a big memory card so I'm sure sony will make some money back that way

My PS+ subscription ran out September 1st and I have not resubbed due to the lack of content. I have a Vita, so my resubscribing is pretty much dependent on them bringing anything good to Vita+

Shit there's no plus on Vita yet and I still need a 16Gb card >.<
It's just so damn expensive though.

I was talking about this post. You've also responded to me previously complaining about lack of retail games by asking me why I wasn't happy with Deus EX when my region didn't get it. That is what I mean by assuming someones region.

I get ya now. Well I'm really just going by what I got in my region. It seemed natural, rather than say "well sony are giving you rdr or some other titles that I don't know about depending on your region"

GRRR. I didn't disable automatic renewal on PS Plus and got charged. Called the day after the charge and asked for a refund and they won't do it. Microsoft did it no problem when I called a week after.

I have not used PS Plus at all in the three months I had it. The only game I wanted to play was Infamous 2 and it was 15GB and took so freaking long to download.
