haven't people had problems in the past downloading a ps+ trial then later on buying the game digitally or getting it as a ps+ free download

If they made the SSFIV to AE update free too that would be so much more convenient for smaller hard drive dudes like myself.
the trails make you finish them, but if that game becomes a free game like resident evil 5 did you just have to run the trail until it expires and then attempt to launch the game again after you "buy" the full version and it should automatically turn into the full version. RE5 gold did for me at least
it's still like 2 hours before the store "normally updates" it almost never updates this early. It's usually between 4-6PM CST

I think you can, you just wont be able to activate the free PS+ version until you launch the trial and let the timer run out. After the trial is over, you get the free PS+ version from the store and it should activate the trial.

I've had the same thing happen. Uncharted 3 was updated even though I hadn't played it in about 6 months. Games I downloaded with PS+ a few weeks ago aren't updated if I haven't started them.

Why does it matter when it updates?
I wanted to start my 18GB download marathon while I was not doing anything. But I'm just downloading the trial now so it's all good.

Got rid of the SSF4 install to make room for AE good trade.
Bizarrely a friend of mine mentioned this today. He has no idea either, so if anyone does find a fix please share it.
I had a similar problem when I tried to download RE5. Install failed, and I had a hand full of corrupted data files left behind. Try this:
- delete the corrupt files
-reboot the PS3 into safe mode
- rebuild the catalog--I think that is what it's called. It's the one that resets all the meta data.
See if that does the trick.
Do make sure your saves are backed up before you do anything, there's a chance your hard drive is having issues.

SSFIVAE takes up 36GB. Gotta delete a lot of stuff. How can the game take up 18GB? The costumes lol?

so I just started playing Arkham City on hard (I always play everything on hard) but man I am getting my ass served to myself on a platter?!
Even the first sequence with catwoman took me a dozen tries before I beat all the thugs up, what am I missing here?

I've got a 320GB (298GB usable), and there's 16GB space left. I've got 76 games installed (of which 13 are larger retail titles) + a plethora of demos, and some videos. PS+ is really eating up the space, and I've had to delete some games to make room for new ones.
They should all be uploaded to 'the cloud' well any important ones (i mainly use it for netflix tbh so games are secondary), sucks im my hdd is on the way out, had this 1 less than a year
Same here, 320 Gb is the minimum for Plus, imho.

How many games do you have in there that you're never gonna touch again?
Probably quite many, especially those old PS1/2 titles, but I don't have the heart to delete them, and they don't really take that much space either. I'll probably delete most of the PS+ retail games when I've played them through, but the problem is that the service gives games in a faster pace than I can play them. =)
I just left my console on all night to download it, ran the installation before I left for work.
Although the other game installed when I shut the machine off, so I guess I could have just did that and only had the patch to install.

I was. I was just making that beww sound, like I was already in that section, but I wasn't.
I had to quit out of the store and go back in.
Today I learned that PS+ apparently handles downloading and installing too. I turned my ps3 off last night with 4gb to go on street fighter and all of rochard and I turn it on today to see both downloaded and rochard was even installed. Would have been nice if it did SF instead since that took 40 minutes to install but I didn't even know it did that to begin with.
He might be talking about automatic downloads. If you turn automatic downloads on and turn off the system while a background dl is in progress/install bubbles are available, it'll finish the download and install when it wakes up for automatic downloads.
Regarding MK in Germany, don't they have a law which forbids anything to be put up for free if it's rated 18+? Don't know about Australia.
dunno, my version of dead space 2 was pretty complete.
