PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I don't understand why it's so hard to look past negativity anyway. If you have a question or whatever just say it. Not everything in life has to be flowers and sunshine.
You're welcome here, and I'm happy to have folks take part, really. I would offer up that many people who would like to take part in this thread do so because they are enthusiastic for the service and find it valuable. For them, a bunch of people pooping all over the service on a regular basis, contributing only negativity, is kind of a downer.

Just 2¢ for you. :)

It's hard to look past it when every time new games are announced the complaining begins. It just constantly derails the thread, and serves no purpose but to vent frustration.

What's the big discussion that it derails? There usually isn't much happening in this thread besides one person posting the new list and everyone reacting (whether positive or negative).

December is actually going to turn out a much better month than others for US, especially if Tokyo Jungle gets a discount.

Eventhough there's no big sprawling discussion here, it derails the thread just the same as constantly complaining about ME3's ending, or claiming Journey & The Walking Dead aren't true games.

How does discussion of PS+ releases derail a PS+ thread? That's what this thread is for. If it were all praise and not complaining, would you still say derail? It's the same coin, just different sides.

Criticism is good, but constantly complaining about the NA offerings in relation to EU's is starting to sound like a broken record. I bet it would be frowned upon on the Netflix thread, if we Europeans did the same every time new films were added to the service.

Except Netflix and PS+ aren't comparable. It's not a good argument.

The situation is the same for the user of the services, but I guess different rules apply for what's proper conduct, especially if the problems don't concern the NA territory. It would be good to keep in mind, that PS+ is the only thing on PSN where the Europeans get the upper hand. When it comes to everything else, we get games, DLCs, demos, films, and services less, later and at a steeper price. Yet, do we complain about it as frequently?

I'm pretty sure the disc version was released earlier as the On Fire version that is on PSN and XBLA have a number of enhancements, apparently.
This is the case for EU, might be the other way around for US?

Yes, On Fire Edition came out a pretty good while after the retail version. And yes, it's much, much better.

My brother got PSN+ for Christmas and was downloading the free games but holy crap is it ever slow. It took half a day to download Infamous 2 and of course you then have to suffer through the install.

We're on 30mps line and I can't believe how slow it is. When we download demos it doesn't take this long so is this normal for PSN?

People also need to wake up to the fact that EU is the PlayStation brand's most valued market. Not the US. It makes sense that they have the better stuff, so deal with it.

How are they the most valued market? They have sold roughly the same amount in both, with the eu selling a few million more. Other then ps+ they treat the eu like a step child, your psn store is a joke. So no I won't "deal with it" I pay them just like the eu does and expect close to equal service.

1$=1€ so you don't pay like me...

So $10 more dollars = leagues better games? Give me a break. You pay more because of the exchange rate, just like you pay more for everything else. You EU folks really like to trumpet that $10 extra dollars as the reason you get better games, it's not.

Good lord man, get a grip. You sound like a child.

Leagues better games? Give ME a break. PS+ is the one and only thing that's a bit better here (though Vita got less games) while we pay more for whatever irrelevant reason, the fact remains and some others do fair price conversions. Imo it's extremely petty to go on and on about it.

$10 extra dollars not... but as you said we have the same amount plus few million more of $10 extra dollars...

I'm just reposting what others say, so please calm yourself down. No need for name calling or insults.

Edit: I just find it amusing that when you try to point out anything about the EU ps+ being better, you guys jump down there throat. Are we not allowed to discuss it without a dog pile about how you are sonys fav market, or you pay more and the us should just deal with it? I don't understand the logic of just telling us to be happy about it. If the shoe was on the other foot I'm sure the EU would bitch to no end about it.

Six years of sales, posted by Parmenides.

US - 21.8 million
EU + UK - 37 million.

Although, apart from PS+ Sony sure doesn't treat the EU market as good as it deserves, compared to how Microsoft treats their most valued market.

It's utterly annoying to watch the continuous stream of complaints after every announcement, especially as the US market has been treated far better than the EU market for years. Only the past six months, and only the PS+ service, has given you less than us. It just seems like a tantrum a favorite child would make, when his sibling gets something better for once.

Sony should focus on EU, USA is a Microsoft land....let it be. Dont get me wrong but EU is far more developed part of the world.

Tokyo Jungle has a banner with $10.49 as the regular price so it'll probably go on sale. It might also have an additional Plus discount.

Unfinished Swan ($15) and Walking Dead ($20) have banners with their regular price so they probably wont go on sale or maybe they haven't preloaded banners for those games. I'm hoping the lack of WD sale price is cause its gonna be free for plus members early next year like they did with Back to the Future this year.

I'm hoping for 7.50 Tokyo Jungle. Would be nice with Plus.

Ofc is not, it's because these deals with publishers are done independently within scee and scea. The fact that EU is a bigger market, and without a question of doubt the one that brings the most income out of psn purchases and psn+ probably means they got more money to spend on these deals. And yeah, you pretty much have to deal with it.

If sony just had one global PSN store like every other major downloadable gaming platform and plus was a global thing instead of a regional thing then this wouldn't be a problem.

Then again maybe the US kind of getting the shaft is purely a money thing. I would REALLY like to know if and how PS Plus makes money for everyone involved.

EU Plus got a lot a shit pre ICG days for not being on par with the US Plus. Ross was actually great for listening to those complains and actively went out of his way to get some parity. It seems that whatever inroads he made are being fully used even now by Chris and it shows.

The US Plus team just strikes me as 'we really don't give a shit'.

I met a few people from the plus team at indiecade and they seemed to admit it, and said better things were coming.

I think they have been pretty good so far this month or when ever Bioshock 2 was offered. I just think giving away any sports game, even if arcadey isn't too smart, but they have given some solid and interesting sports titles.

Is there a list of titles that were on the IGC previously? I just got on the PS3 bandwagon since E3.

The spoiled bit is blacked-out to prevent any person from having a trigger reaction to the most evil word in the English language. I apologize in advance, but I had to do it. DO NOT CLICK IT unless you have a friend nearby to help you through.

I wish someone would do a psychological study of people who act like this.

If people want to say EU+ is better then US+, great; opinions man. If people want to wish for parity; totally reasonable.

But to say things like "they just don't give a shit" and "we're being shafted" strikes me as so bat-shit insane it's alarming. We got, what, six games this month? On what planet are you so
entitled
and spoiled that you think that is in anyway a bad deal?

I'm actually an EU Plus member :P

I'm going by the fact that despite the backlash, criticism and the surveys the US team doesn't seem be able to secure content that is at least a bit below the part of the EU content. This is especially jarring when you realise that the licensing issues in the US are much easier to overcome than in the EU. In fact there doesn't even seem to be an admittance from the US team that the content they offer isn't being received as well by the people.

In the EU, when Plus was below the US standards Ross, as I've said, actively engaged with the community, listening to the feeding, admitting difficulties and tried to work around it.

Sony keeps trumpeting the satisfaction rate of their subscribers for a reason; people aren't unhappy with the service. A bunch of loud children on message boards claim to be, but still continue to pay for it.

A friend of mine that works in a different area at work recently got a PS3 and one of the reasons was all the stuff he'd seen on my system through PS+. He has downloaded everything he's gotten so far, just on the three month voucher, and he's pretty much said "this is great value, I'm totally getting a year when my three months are up".

Essentially he's buying cheap used BD games from GameStop and the only digital stuff he gets is through PS+. For him, the number and quality of games he gets for what he's spending is just amazing.

If that's indicative of the customer satisfaction Sony's seeing, I can imagine that most U.S. PS+ customers in the real world would find this thread baffling.

When you are paying for something there is no way to be entitled about what they're giving away. They've been giving shit away and my money has been going down the drain thanks to it. Retro City Rampage might be the worst game I've ever played so I'm definitely demanding better for Vita. And they're answering with another horrible game in chronovolt.

The NA offerings' supposed shittiness is entirely subjective, and also depends on whether you compare them to EU offerings or not. There have been several months where the EU service has offered nothing worthwhile for me, or anything I didn't have already, but you don't see me complaining about it. I think it's better that some months offer less, as I don't have time to play 1-2 new PS+ games every month, especially if they're retail titles.

The key there is new owner, and the service is really excellent for new owners . The problem PSPlus runs into is in the long run. With Netflix you have a huge library of movies and tv shows to throw out for the fee, PSplus you have a much smaller library to work with and you are only offering a couple new ones a month. With no repeats. It becomes a balancing act that to get full value out of requires a diverse taste in games and a change in buying habits. I would always suggest a small subcription to try it out and see if tastes sync up with offers.

And that entitled and spoiled bullshit above needs to go out the window. Some people might have gotten free trials but its still a paid service, my renewal came out of my wallet. And with sony reps in this very thread its worth voicing concerns and frustrations with our PAID service rather then being complacent.

As is well known among regulars, I'm a day-one subscriber in the U.S.

And I'm quite happy with what I get every month. :)

Can't wait to get back to Bioshock 2. I own it on BD, but I haven't bought a new BD (for myself) since Uncharted 3 since I went all-digital. Having the digital version of Bioshock 2 is just giving me what I wanted anyway, but didn't want to spend money on directly.

One thing, though. I thought Lumines had an MSRP drop to $30. Pretty crappy that the digital copy reflect the old price.
