If console games sold as poorly as PC games, prices would be lower. But they don't, so they won't be.

I'm sure droves of people were buying Human Revolution a year or more later, just like I'm sure tons are buying all of the Vita launch games that are still $36 on PSN. Let's not try to find excuses for Sony and MS being way behind the times on DD pricing. Steam's probably making a lot more money on HR today than PSN will.

I'm curious how Microsoft responds after their big holiday sale. I think it was a step in the right direction and they'll find people are way more likely to bite on aggressive discounts.

The store for next week wouldn't be updated by now, would it? Try it Thursday or Friday most likely. Wasn't that about the time you tried it last time? If they had a publish ready this early why wouldn't they just include it today?

Thing is for most developers is that they rely on console sales heavily and mostly from retail.
I hope you do know developers and publishers set the pricing ?

Audience on DD system can be of two types where
They have two options

Sell games @ 10$ where 100 people which will buy which will give 1000$

Sell Games @ 20$ where 50 people will buy which will give 1000$

one suits steam more and the other suits psn more

Sure PSN and live prices hopefully get better next gen and indie games can be priced much here as well

RCR=retro city rampage? Oh no you didn't! 3: It's such a fun little game! The chuckles I get from all the cheesy references alone make it a good game.

The error is what makes me think they fixed it. Last week if you skipped the clock a day you would just get the same banner ads. If you skipped it to Monday you would get the ads for this weeks update. Now when you skip the clock to 1 day ahead or more it spits out the Network Unavailable error which is making me think the server is making sure the local date isn't ahead of the server one.

Forgot to change the year to 2013, which is why it must have been spitting out that error earlier -_-;

It still works, but next weeks banners haven't been preloaded yet. Maybe they'll do it before the weekend like you said.

"Crappy fighting games" comes off as "I don't like the genre" so that's not a convincing argument for the quality. AE and KOF are arguably the best fighting games this gen, and they already gave away their best first party Vita games. What do you reasonably expect?
 
Eh, I almost bought NBA Jam a few times, but got something else instead. Good, I remember the old games where pretty good.

Yeah this week was really bad. The previous 2 weeks I bought about 5 or 6 Vita games and this week I "settled" with Sound Shapes.
 
Will MGS HD ever come free for PS+?
considering to buy it at $17 but i have no time to play so should i wait for eventual free for PS+ subbers?
 
Will get Chronovolt just for the lulz...and trophies.
I've read mixed impressions about Sound Shapes, but has the demo for the Vita ver. been fixed yet?
 
This is the second time that Shadow of the Colossus has gone on sale this year, but Ico has never been on sale. I guess I would have been better off waiting for the disc-based collection to be $20 in Canada.
 
I've been postponing buying Uncharted 2 in the hope it'll appear on PS+, as the demo didn't really do it for me, but I kinda want to try it after all the praise it has received.
 
Lol I missed on being able to buy Journey. Thought the sale prices would change on Tuesday.

Oh well, there's always re next sale. I got Tokyo Jungle and all I can say is fuck yes.

I'll probably let my Plus run out at the end of this month and pick it back up when something interesting comes out again.
 
Downloaded Katamari, Jetpack, and Chronovolt tonight. I'm on the fence about Katamari but I'm a huge fan of the series so I couldn't resist. It's still downloading though now. Jetpack Joyride is really fun but it crashes a lot. I could see this being a time waster game. Chronovolt is pretty mediocre but it was free, so what the hell.

NBA Jam is pretty good but I already have it on the 360.

I'd love to see a Vita version, too. They have iOS and Android versions, but I'd prefer to play a game like this with physical controls, and the Vita would be ideal for that.
 
Ok, what am I missing - I see Infamous 2 for free for PS+ members, 'purchase' it, go to dl it and I get a message saying there's not enough free space on my system even though its only 15gb. So I go out to my xmb and delete a bunch of stuff, go to system settings and check the properties and I have 22gb of 55gb of free space. I go to my account history and try to dl Infamous 2 again and it tells me again that I don't have enough free space.

EDIT: Did a little more deleting and now up to 26gb of free space and it still says there's not enough memory to dl Infamous 2.

Why can't I download this game? I've got the hard disk space!

You need twice the game's size to download and install it. So if the game is 10GB, then you need 20GB on your hard drive to hold both the 10GB installer and the 10GB installed version.

You need enough space for both the download and installation. The download file will be removed after the installation is complete, but you need the buffer space for the process.

EDIT: Yeah, I guess what the OP said.

I think it unlikely to be honest. As I understand it, the hdd space required for it breaks the 30Gb figure, and although it has happened at least once before, they would be giving away a game than many of their consoles won't have the space to play.

It strikes me as a possible issue. That, and they want you to buy it instead.

Just to add various and top rated games have been among the top 10 purchased games on Steam and those games either have a 25% discount or non. I recall Far Cry 3 being among the top 10 games during the Autumn sale on Steam.

...but man after seeing how attractive the low prices on Steam are, it makes me wonder why Sony never bothers to do something similar.

They started to in the EU at least. Sleeping dogs was 17 euro, Hitman 25. So they are at least starting to.

Do we get PS+-specific themes and/or avatars now? I feel like there hasn't been anything in that category for a while, but the new store makes that less transparent. I guess I could try sorting by posting date or something.

Not really. Its in the blog posts usually. I also miss the PSone games since I didn't get a ps3 until after the IGC. I need more games for my vita :(
